So the match is a few days away and no thread up yet?

From what I've seen in MOTD* highlights, Wolves don't look like they are going to stay up.

    1-0 to us.

The match will be aired live at 8:55am on Setanta Xtra and then re-aired at 1pm on Setanta. Anyone want to send me a DVD copy?

*speaking of, there is a great program where you can watch british tv channels found here: http://www.myp2pforum.eu/live-tv/41045-british-tv.html I've been watching MOTD all season so far and its been great!

Thanks for starting the thread. I think you'll see Roy's preferred lineup [Schwarzer back; Davies on the bench w/Duff starting] with everyone except Paintsil well-rested.

    We're going to win.

3-0 Fulham. Goals by Dempsey and AJ followed by a late break-away by EJ.

Doesn't say much for Stoor that Paintsil was the only regular to play, does it?

2-0 good guys vs. Wolves in a thoroughly dominating performance

That's where another LB would have come in handy, especially since Kallio never panned out.

As for the match, 2-1 Whites. Wolves are poor defensively. I think they'll find the net once at home.

I was thinking this looked like a pub match at first....but that early, and being the lone Fulham man at the Alamo, I think I'll join you guys online.

Lawro picks against Fulham again (2-1 to Wolves) - I set my watch by his predictions for Fulham to lose.

Really, 2-1? I know Fulham aren't strong on the road, but honestly, and without the multiple snifters of brandy to influence his opinion, he thinks Wolves are a goal better? I disagree.

"Even though they beat Everton at home last week, I thought Fulham looked tentative and nervy. We know they're good defensively, but they've struggled to create chances.

Wolves will be a topsy-turvy team this season, but they're starting to get their strikers fit and I think they'll cause teams problems.

    Verdict: 2-1"

Sounds like Konch is a no go (knee). Have to think that yesterday's draw was a lift to the club as a whole (rest & psyche). We should expect the first team to play with a lot of energy. A draw wouldn't be a surprise, but a scoreline of 2-1 to the lads in white sounds about right.

Wolves have struggled both defensively and offensively.

Word has it they will have Sylvain-Blake ready to go for this one. He was a prolific goal scorer in the Championship, so that is a boost in the offensive department.

With that said, I believe the Whites are step above in overall quality when compared to a team like Wolverhampton.

I don't think a 3-0 domination is likely, but 1-0 win is definitely within the realm of possibilities.

My prediction is Dempsey bags his first goal of the season this weekend...

The article was fine. All in fun. Probably swing by for a burger & bock tonight since you're playing in the neighborhood.

Did we ever really expect Kallio (29 years old when signed and never played anywhere better than the Swiss league) to be anything more than a big backup CB/LB with more experience than our academy players?

I'm a bit concerned about the Wolves. We're on the road and we seem to struggle against the promoted sides for some reason. I still think we'll get the victory (2-0).

Looks like the usual starters are ready to go, except for Konch. I don't see us letting this one slip thru our fingers. Three points.

In the absence of live television, I'm guessing that several early risers will be here in the chatroom in the morning. I'm hoping for a decent link and for GJ.

I think we'll have a good day in the West Midlands.

Setanta X-tra is giving it to us live in about 6 hours and 50 minutes...Ollie and I will be viewing and in good voice for our traveling supporters (he'd be up anyway, he's 5 weeks old!) He fancies an AJ strike to level and a draw, while I see Fulham sneaking a 1-0 win with a goal to Murphy.

Konch is fine, and so is Schwarzer. Here's the lineups

Wolves: Hennessey, Halford, Berra, Mancienne, Elokobi, Edwards, Henry, Castillo, Jarvis, Keogh, Doyle. Subs: Hahnemann, Hill, Zubar, Milijaš, Kightly, Maierhofer, Ebanks-Blake.
Fulham: Schwarzer, Konchesky, Pantsil, Hughes, Hangeland, Murphy, Duff, Johnson, Etuhu, Dempsey, Zamora. Subs: Zuberbuhler, Baird, Gera, Kamara, Smalling, Greening, Davies.

Off to the chatroom and the game!

Last season is looking like it was a fluke. We are so disinterested in attacking and that really is surprising. Wolves we absolute shit defensively besides Berra and any other team would've put 4 or 5 past them.

Etuhu is garbage, get rid of him and bring in Greening.

Duff is horrible down the right, bring in Davies and put Duff on the left.

Bring in Kamara for Zamora. Kamara was a threat and adds pace and flair to the attack.

Murphy is looking his age. Hopefully he can bounce back, but I'm not sure he can.

Really, unless we learn how to love to attack, we're going to be in a relegation fight. We look decent going forward so it's obviously the manager who tells them to be cautious. ANy plauyer with an ounce of intelligence should know that the manager is wrong and that we should be attacking with the quality that we show when we do attack. Stop being so fucking cautious already!

Goals scored against Wolves by other Premier League teams this season:

    West Ham: 2
    Wigan: 0
    Man City: 1
    Hull: 1

    So, um, no.

My opinion as not changed since I posted after the Chelsea game, we are mediocre at best, we will now lose on Weds, and next Saturday at home to Arsenal, that's not being pessimistic it is being a realist. We then play away to West Ham who always beat us, and then we have Hull at home, can you remember they owned us last year, after Roys 10 gamnes we could really be in it.

I admire the total optimism of my fellow Fulham Fans, but it is misguided, firstly nobody whose anybody wanted to play for us, we have cast off forwards, and a midfield apart from Dempsey who as seen its best days, we will struggle this year because of it. Lawro was right about this game and another point he made, last year we had a superb defensive record if that fails us, and it seems that it as, we will be in real trouble.

I know this post is dire, and some may say why support a team like this, believe me I have asked myself that question for most of the past 50 years, but once you become a fulham fan, you are hooked for life, they are still my team and always will be, but I really do fear for this season, it looks like a very long one for us. I will say one thing on the optimistic side, there does seem to be teams at least as good as us in terms of ability, and maybe we can squeak out some wins against them at home, because winning away again this year looks a little beyond this squad.

So,um,yes. Were you watching the same game? They were absolute shit when the ball came into the box. A team with an interest in scoring goals would simply put the ball in the box as many times as possible. I was getting tired of hearing Gale say the obvious. There was a couple of times where we had chances because they didn't know how to clear the ball. The Johnson chance is an example.
