Thursday night is a good time to start a match thread for a Sunday match.

    A couple of things:

    1. We're going to win 3-1. Sunderland couldn't score in a cat house with an American Express platinum bard.
    2. There will be no View From South Texas. Church in the morning, theater gig in the afternoon, and a friend is shutting her bar down for good Sunday night, so I'll probably go over and sang a song or two and give her a hug or 12. May be late Monday afternoon before I get around to actually watching this. Somebody got this for me?

It will actually be on regular Fox Soccer on sunday morning. But I would love to do it. "The View From North Texas" sounds good. At least I think.

I'll put anybody's review up as long as long as I have permission to do so and it is a somewhat "proper" review. Not looking for newspaper material, just appropriate language, etc.

Not that I'm expecting you to swear like a sailor in your review. Although, if we lose like we did to a 10-man Blackburn last year...then I might expect you to.

Expecting a win since we are at home. I'm a little surprised that Sunderland is struggling to score b/c I like their front 6. I figured the defense and gk were their weaker links. I haven't seen them play a match, so I have no idea what they've got injury wise. Fletcher should be good for a goal. Agree with Don though, 3-1 Fulham.

Baird on 5 yellows, Diarra and Richardson hurt. Be thin but Kaca, Ruiz, and Berbatov on form we should win.

Gotta think Karagounis gets some action in this one - Sidwell to be paired with him? Or slide Ruiz back and let Petric / Roda on?

Hope the goals keep coming. The defense should have an easier time as well. This leads me to believe a we've got a good chance of a win. Gotta get 3 pts against these lower teams.

    Isn't Kasami out on loan?

I won't be in the chat room sunday. On vacation in Asheville, NC. We should be able to handle this one.
However, if we do happen to draw again, at least we will go ahead of Spurs.

I was hoping for a draw in the Spurs match. Hard to play a man down for that long.

We should take all 3 points from this match. I'm glad I'll be able to actually see this match.

Should be an easy home win...which means we'll struggle. The goals will keep coming, however, 4-3 Whites.

Terrible call on the straight red. Clearly affected the game. I hope Lee Probert won some good money on a wager after that crap.

Bad call by the ref and poor defending cost us. This really hurts us as Sunderland is a very winnable game and now we're without Hangeland for the next 3 tough games and possible Ruiz and Kaca too. We could actually fall into a relegation battle if we don't get anything from the next 3 games. I think we will get some points, but it will be difficult if Ruiz and Kaca are both out along with Hangeland.

Clearly, I need to look at the table before saying such stuff. We could fall to 15th, but would not be in any real trouble. Still, we could be higher up the table and falling into the bottom half sucks. Guess we're starting to fall to where we should have been all along.

Red card was total B.S. Thank you, Mr. Probert. Still, we did not acquit ourselves well afterwards, something you HAVE to do at this level. The injuries didn't help, either, but, bottom line, you have to do better at home, or else. All is not lost this season, however, beccause we are still scoring more than we normally do. If we can keep it up, the tide will surely turn.

Saw on the UK's TalkSport page that Jol said he would not appeal the card, but is hoping for only one game.
