Well, if you're in the Cincy TW area, you're like me: Finding a bar.

TW Cols put Mun2 on their 'service channel', In the SW area it's important enough to put it on their call center greeting but not to switch it for the game.

I gave the billing person an earful and, from the sounds of it, I wasnt the first. {I always apologize when doing that, tell em it's not their fault of course} Told her I would be going to Sat soon and they were losing me.

ACTUALLY this is the fault of National {Socialist} Broadcasting Company. What a blatant corp shill device.

you guys drive me nuts when you obscure the thread title on a match thread. But, I'm not complaining or threatening or trying to take charge or being dictatorial or intolerant.

Damn, Christian's gotten into my head.

Why can't the USMNT hold a lead?

Why cant the US get fair officiating? Why can Mexican players grab and attack our players and not even get a foul? Why doesnt FIFA do something about the dangerous objects thrown at our players? That's why Nevzter?

    1. I enjoyed the mun2 coverage. Balboa and Schoen are a HUGE improvement over Christian Miles and John Harkes. It was nice watching 90+ minutes without 45 of it devoted to what Dempsey was doing wrong. My only bitch is the same bitch I have with any coverage of the USMNT: They wait until the match is underway to give the starting lineups, and they NEVER give a list of the eligible subs. Drives me nuts, but all the American networks do this.

    2. I don't think that the officiating crew made a difference in the final outcome. I DO think that Castillo should have gotten a yellow [and a muzzle and a leash], but the match wasn't dirty and there wasn't that much diving, and ALL THREE OF OUR YELLOW CARDS WERE RICHLY DESERVED.

    3. Speaking of the final outcome, while it was what I expected, what I didn't expect was for Jozy and Feilhaber to come in as subs AND DO ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. At least Holden played well. Mexico's subs dominated from the moment they stepped on the pitch, 2/3rds of ours went out to hide. There's the difference between getting a point and getting none.

    4. speaking of late second half subs, Bradley junior might as well have been one since he didn't really do much of anything until about minute 75.

    5. Both of the goals that beat Timmy were unstoppable. It's hard to stop anything that scratches the bottom of the crossbar as it goes by at 87 MPH.

    6. Donovan's treatment while taking that late corner reminded me of any visiting player trying to take a corner at the Nordecke in Crew Stadium.

    7. Refreshing to see that the Bradley haters haven't infiltrated here -- YET. When our all-time record is 0-23-1, it's kind of unreasonable to fire a guy who has us on the edge of qualifying for 2010 WC because he didn't win.

    8. Charlie Davies and Brian Ching are a great partnership. Donovan and Dempsey made two very good passes to him for a total of one goal and one almost.

9 MofTM? -- Timmy Howard and Oguchi Onyewu [tie]

Thank you mun2, even if you are [evidently] owned by NAZIs. Hey, Pettyfog said so, so it must be true!

I personally like Bob Bradley and can't wait for the rest of qualifying.

I think we have finally found our striking answer with Charlie Davies as well.

I thought Boca wasn't that great today.

Why do people always cry about the way Mexican fans treat American players? Shouldn't this be expected? As a player you should not be intimidated because people are throwing cups at you.

Furthermore, the mexican players were pieces of shit, but again this shouldn't matter. Get on with the game

The ref was obviously one sided, but even then the US yellow cards were deserved. Castillo should've got booked, but who cares. It wouldn't of made a difference anyways.

credit to the Mexicans who closed us down immediately any time we won possession and we resorted to kicking the ball long and losing possession. poor job of our mids pushing forward to relieve our forwards any time they held the ball up. Davies has loads of potential. Holden put that cross right on the money, how I wish it was McBride on the end for the finish. Absolute class finishes on both the Mexican goals. I dont' even need to discuss the first, watch the replay and see for yourself. Teh second one, Howard had the near post covered, Demerit was on the line and had the middle covered, and Holden was on the far line and had that post covered. The only place to score was in the roof and that dude put it right there. Mexico fully deserved the points. Looking forward to El Salvador at the Rio on September 5.

You can't win many games when you don't have the ball.

Mexico easily outplayed the US today, in my opinion.

I agree. Plain and simple, Mexico was better. What was the possession break down, 70 v. 30 for Mexico?

And everything complained about in the above posts HAPPENS IN EVERY SINGLE ROAD CONCACAF MATCH FOR THE U.S. This type of shit shouldn't even surprise us anymore.

Still, the pattern of blowing leads in the second half continues and is kind of worrisome - regardless of the situation.

Because tactically Bob Bradley is Lawrie Sanchez.

They come out with a solid game plan and get an early goal. But then they don't react to the changes the opposition makes, resort to prevent defense and long ball offense, and blow leads.

Random stat of the day (that I just heard), Mexico has allowed the first goal at home in 11 World Cup qualifiers all-time. In those 11 games, Mexico has come back to win all 11, not even a tie.

Playing Clark and Bradley does not work against good teams. Too many times they were flat in the middle which resulted in both of them chasing the play. This should not happen. I have been complaining about this from day 1. They both have the same mentality in terms of playing the midfield, and that does not work. Plus, Clark has the touch of a mule.

If we cannot maintain any type of possession, we are destined to lose. I watched as our boys in the back gave the ball away constantly. We never got into any type of rhythm of moving the ball around. They moved the ball around with ease. I thought we lost possession easier than my Sunday league team.

The ref was terrible. I thought it was clear in terms of bias. Yes, Don, I agree with the yellows for our guys, but Guardardo and Torrado could have easily gotten yellows if the calls were consistent. Nery Castillo should have been ejected for his behavior for both the Davies and Gooch incidents. He did not even get a yellow. That was BS. I was proud of Benny for hammering him. The ref did not lose the game for the US, but he was not doing anything to reprimand the Mexican team for their behavior (I know Torrado and Dos Santos got cards, but that was after the fact). It was pretty hypocritical when they were playing for time after they scored the go ahead goal.

If we decide that we are going to play like this - score a goal and sit back, then we will not get out of the group stage in the WC (I am assuming we will qualify). I was pretty pissed today, and actually, I still am. This goes back to the heart and passion. I do not think they had that today. Their heads were down at the beginning of the second half.

The one thing I will give Bradley is that I liked the subs in Holden and Benny. I thought he should have started Jozy with Davies. I do not blame Benny for his play today. He did give the ball away a couple of times, but like I said earlier, we were not in a rhythm of playing any type of possession. The defense was knocking it past the midfield all game, and as a midfielder that is the worst thing that can happen.

I may watch it again and give my take on the players. I am too angry watching this match. Couple that with the fact that I cannot get Setanta to watch the opener with Portsmouth.

Oh yeah, F the scum throwing stuff at LD when he was going to take that corner. They had the lead, and they show absolutely no class. Scum. I would like to see if Aguirre comes out and says anything about that.

OK, that seems like a long enough post. Still pissed!!!!!!!!!!!

Tried to post the image but couldnt.

The officiating was horrendous and I cant believe you guys, other than Eric D, arent pissed. Yes we didnt posses well at all but we were still tied when yellows and reds could've (should've) been shown. That certainly could have changed things. This whole international soccer is ridiculous. Mexico has a history of this, they have a coach who kicked a Panama player for godsakes, and yet apparently the Americans are the ones who need the discipline. THis is a joke. If the US comes to Cleveland, I'll go and support our guys, but otherwise I give up. Not worth my time when it's all fixed. Adios amigos and COYWs

Nice photo Mo. That barely deserves a yellow card in Panama I guess. Looks like the ref is holding Benny so Torrado could get a better grip. F Torrado that Pauly Shore looking SOB! He just made the list - again. That should have been Torrado's second yellow.

    EXACTLY.

I was going thinking through things after the match, relating them to my main football reference point, Fulham, and that's the exact conclusion I came to. Long ball tactics with hopes of a goal relying on a counterattack whilst sitting back and defending like mad. What we need is Roy to come coach us after he retires at Fulham. I don't care when it is, because I sincerely hope Roy stays with us for a long time, but he is one manager I've seen who could take us to the next level. I don't trust the USSF to ever consider him but I will continue to hope.

I didn't get to watch today's match but I followed the commentary at work. I don't understand why Bradley didn't start the exact same lineup as he did in the Confederations Cup. If I've learned one thing from Roy, it's that if it ain't broke, don't fix it. When will Bradley realize that Ching is not the man we need up front? I commend him for seeing the light regarding Beasley, Twellman and Eddie Johnson (whose form may be improving, it seems) but I just can't understand the continued inclusion of some of these players. I know I'm not in his shoes and there are many, many things I don't know about soccer, the individual players, their fitness, etc. But really, how is Ching any better than Jozy? And for that matter, didn't Spector prove himself enough to keep a starting spot? Why does Cherundolo get the nod when he's not had near the time recently with the national team because of injury? It makes no sense to me. Maybe that's not why we lost but I sure think we'd have done better with Jozy and Spector in.

Despite my criticisms above, I think Bob is a good coach. I really do. But I don't think he's the man who can take us much beyond where we are now. Under him, we'll get a few shock wins and losses, we'll be above average but not great, and we'll probably qualify for South Africa and, depending on the draw, probably not make it out of the group stage. I just hope in the next cycle, Sunil gets us someone who can take the next step forward with the USMNT.

Last bitching point, why in the world was this match not on ESPN or ABC or FSC? FFS, try this Mun2 shite with a match that no one cares about. When it's US v Mexico at the Azteca in World Cup qualifying, with the US being in the best position to win there in a long time, how do you truly screw this up and make sure that a majority of the people who want to watch it, or DVR it, can't? I guess they do what they did today. It just shows how low soccer still is on the totem pole of American sports.

Wow, Mo, just saw the picture after my long-ass post. That pisses me off so badly... It's a good thing I wasn't at the match. I'd have been so out of control over that, the Mexicans would have killed me :)
