Jozy can't pick the fixtures, so why bother qualifying it? Two hours on the field, one goal, one assist. Regardless of who it's against, he's off to a great start.

Jozy is quietly becoming a media darling, especially on ESPN. Bill Simmons keeps talking about him, he's on First Take today to talk about the WC qualifiers, and an article wrapping up the transfer window keyed on him as far and away Hull's biggest signing. Good for him, he deserves it!

Juan Vinegar of Humperdinck is a slow dreadnaught who couldn't get regular PT with Celtic in the Scottish Pony League three years ago. I don't think he'll have any impact in the Prem.

Thanks for the link HD. Sure hope so this leads to Jozy playing more, but a cause for concern is Brown. Reading his quotes makes him come across as a right w@nker.

He is all of that, SCJ, but right wanker is a tough position to play in a 4-4-2

Sounds like Brown is trying to make it work though. Did he really say '14 unhappy bunnies'?

I couldn't agree with you more Don. I was just thinking the same thing. I saw him play a few times in Champions League and he is utter garbage.

Well, the "slow dreadnaught" was subbed into the game before Jozy was.

Yeah, Andy, but Jozy played 70 some minutes twice in the week, and he's still not completely match fit.

I saw on SOCCERNET when Jozy came in and fast forwarded my DVR so I could watch him. There wasn't much to see, really, except Hull are incredibly poor in defense. Since they allowed Turner to leave, they are looking more and more like Derby did a couple of years back.

To Jozy's defense, it was 3-0 when he came on so cracking the defense was going to be very difficult. Hopefully he'll get more meaningful time as the season goes on.

I like Hull's back 4. It makes it easier to reconcile rooting for Jozy while wanting Hull to lose.

Our lad is "enjoying" his first league start for Hull. After 60 minutes the score is Hull 0 Birmingham City 0 -- this match is a nice preview for next season's followers of the CCC.

    Hope Jozy is playing well!

and, two minutes later, it appears that Jozy didn't do all THAT well, since he was subbed off at 64 minutes.

I saw much of Josy's time on the pitch and he played very well. Held up and controled the ball well. Some good D was needed to prevent at least one goal from him. The problem is that Ghilas was brought on for him and he is one valuable player.

Unfortunately it looks like Brown values JVH more than Jozy. I'd REALLY like Jozy to get the chance to start alongside Ghilas. I think he's proven that he plays better alongside a speedster than a target man.

Jozy is definately lower on the depth chart than JVH. The latter started while Jozy got 8 minutes.

What's is surpriasing is that in Jozy's first match, he exhibited a real rapport with Gjilas immediately. I don't think they've played together more than 5 or 10 minutes since.

Hull's problems are not with their strike force, however. Their defense is getting worse and worse. How Brown could have spent all summer chasing every striker in Europe while letting his only creditable defender leave is simply amazing to me.

WHEN he's fired, I'll be very surprised if he gets another job any time soon -- he's more outclassed than Sanchez was.
