Fulhamfc.com (http://www.fulhamfc.com/Club/News/NewsA ... nVote.aspx) just put up video and a poll for goal of the year. The nominees are:

    1. Bobby Zamora vs. Bolton
    2. Clint Dempsey vs. Chelsea
    3. Paul Konchesky vs. West Ham
    4. Andy Johnson vs. Portsmouth
    5. Erik Nevland vs. Portsmouth
    6. Zoltan Gera vs. Manchester United
    7. Dickson Etuhu vs. Manchester City
    8. Erik Nevland vs. Stoke City
    9. Diomansy Kamara vs. Newcastle

Who did you vote for and why?

My vote... Paul Konchesky. Not the goal with the most style, but it was such a shock when it went in and it was thunderous left if I've ever seen one. John Arne Riise eat your heart out.

Konchesky as well for me...Gera's is a close second, though.

number 1, 3, 6, and 7 were featured on the BPL Goals of the Season show. If I'm not mistaken, Konchesky's might have made it into the top 10.

My personal favorite is Dempsey's first against Chelsea, which was NOT one of the nominees. Of what's left, I picked Nevland's goal against Stoke. He helped get the move started and finished it beautifully.

A definite no to Konchesky's goal. Nice as it was, we didn't play well that game and deserved the thumping W Ham gave to us. PK also gave up a penalty in that game. So, I gotta say nyet.

One I was hoping to vote for didn't even make the final cut -- Deuce's goal against Boro at home that put us up 3-0. A fantastic team effort.

Gera's goal against United wins it for me. I screamed so loud I scared my kid and started hyperventilating.

Haha, I was in the same boat with the Gera goal against United. I screamed at the top of my lungs "YESSS" and woke up all of my roommates. I don't think they could hold it against me though. Definitely was a warranted reaction.

Regardless of how poorly Konch finished out the game it was still a screamer.

Speaking of goals, here is a letter to The Fiver in today's Guardian:

"I noticed from Wikipedia that the Zamora trophy in Spain goes to 'the goalkeeper who has the lowest goals-to-games ratio. It is named after legendary Spanish goalkeeper Ricardo Zamora'. Lowest goals-to-games ratio? Are they sure it's not named after Bobby Zamora?" - Aidan O'Donnell.

I voted for Konchesky, because my reaction to that goal is the same as it was when I watched it the first time. WOW!!!!!

Gera's combined artistry and situational importance in a way that none of the other goals do. It's got to be that one for me.

Definitely Gera. Konchesky's was great, but game context has to mean something.

I'll take Dempsey's goal against the 'scum. It has significance, possibly moreso than Gera's since that goal was icing and not the winner. Plus, I have a hard time giving Zoltan goal of the year with all of the sitters he missed. And of all the goals, I've re-watched Dempsey's brace the most this season.

Konchesky's without a doubt. What he did prior to and after the goal has nothing to do with the goal itself.

Gera's was fluke but pretty awesome as well.

The Dempsey goal against Boro was just classy so it third for me.
