Relegation Shake Down...

Two matches left for most sides in the Prem and with Fulham's place in the top half and a spot in Europe within the realm of possibilities lets examine the clubs scrapping to hang on.

With that being said. Two questions:

1. Which three clubs would you like to see relegated?

2. Which three clubs do you think will most likely get relegated?

The clubs in the mix: West Brom, Boro, Hull, Newcastle, Sunderland and even Pompey I believe.

 

I believe West Brom, Hull, and Boro will go down.

But I want Sunderland, Hull, and Newcastle to go down.

 

I really don't care who goes down, as long as one particular team does, but I don't want to beat that drum here.

Assuming Blackburn and Bolton, w/ 40 pts apiece, are safe, here's the runout for relegation --

Pompey – 38 pts

Sunderland – 36 Pts
@ Pompey
v Chelski

Newcastle – 34 pts
v Fulham
@ Aston Villa

Hull – 34 pts
@ Bolton
v Man United (gulp!)

Middlesbrough – 31 pts
v Aston Villa
@ West Ham

West Brom – 31 pts
v Liverpool (ouch!)
@ Blackburn

This is possibly observer bias, but I see no points for the Toon this year, and possibly one for Hull. W Brom, too little too late. Boro, boo on you for fooling me in the game against us that you had heart. You won't be missed either.

Toon, Boro, and WBA going down.

 

I am sticking by what I said in another thread a couple of weeks ago... Newcastle and Hull get nothing in the final weeks and Boro and WBA are too far down to get out. So Newcastle squeeks by as we say goodbye to the first half Cinderella Hull city.

 

Now that I think about it, Newcastle winning is probably good news for WBA, and bad news for everyone under 40 points.

Because there are 6 points left to play for, and Hull City got dragged into the mix. So teams below Hull (Boro and WBA) have 2 teams on equal points they "can" leap (not saying they will).

Whereas Bolton and others on down can mathematically still be relegated if they get zero points and everyone else in the drop gets 6.

It should clear up a bit this weekend.

Donny may love him some FA Cup, but I love me some relegation battles!
