The Coming of the Fourth American Republic

As some of you realize, I'm an optimist on the ultimate outcome of any regime we elect to power. This essay confirms my viewpoint on it.

As a candle flares brightly just before it gutters out, we are actually witnessing the conception of a New America: The 'little death' before the Birth of a New Age. There's more than just coincidence in that allegory. That birth may be bloody, probably will. But, in the end, the bairn will grow and flourish and it will all have been worth it.

This essayist is far from the first I've seen make the point but he does the best at putting it in a historical perspective. And a little thought about what he writes might help explain why the OLD GUARD fears the Tea Parties so much.
