When I first saw your username, I was trying to figure out what I would put on a "Fulhamburger". I've had this idea to open a football pub some day for awhile now and name the food after various clubs.

If you name a selection after WBA or Sunderland, you'll only be able to use them every other year.

    Great idea though.

    WARNING: thread jack commencing.

The Chelsea Burger: Meticulously prepared with the finest meat and garnishments. However, costs alot and tastes like shit. Popular with those who really don't know much about footy (or hamburgers, but think they're cool while eating one).

I used to work at Lexis-Nexis where I concentrated on 'skunkworks' projects.. that is finding technical solutions to real, but off the budget-map, customer connectivity problems.

In the weekly departmental meeting I had to give synopses on what I was currently working on so that it wouldnt be a total surprise when I asked for some off-the-wall tasks from the telecom engineers.

While outlining my possible solutions, sometimes I would be so enthused I'd go off on a tangent about either the technology or how the current environment got where it was.
This was in the early nineties and a popular printed sign in many cubes was the Dilbert-like phrase:
    Eschew Obfuscation
I USUALLY kept an eye on my audience so I'd know when I got too far off track by the rolling eyes or nodding heads but one week, the whole group held up that Eschew Obfuscation sign in unison. First I was embarrassed, then I laughed. I mean I already had known that for years.

So I did a gopher search on the net and found a lot of references to 'pettifoggery' in few cases spelled with a 'y'. This has a Dickens origin and refers to a self important 'clerk' {lower level official} who makes a meal of his function in society. And it was usually lawyers who used it. Still is.

I also was a big fan of Prof Irwin Corey and likened myself to him.. not that I made shit up but for the same 'presentation skills'.

Thus started using this handle everywhere, except where personal security was a factor, including all email usernames.

Too much info? Well, you asked, and... after all...

well, mine is supposed to be "dtown" for denver not "dtwon." The dough is for 1)doughboy - Ice Cube's character in Boyz N the Hood. And secondly because i worked in a donut shop for 7 years (14-21).

I always wondered about whether the "dtwon" = "dtown"

As was the case with HatterDon, do you blame spirits for the mistype?

Uh...dudes? I think HatterDon might have been joking.

He's a fan of Luton Town (aka the Hatters) and as for Todd Rundgren...
