Fabian Johnson is out again, poor kid was hospitalized briefly with salmonella-like symptoms. The red card waiting to happen JJ has an accumulation of yellows and will miss the game (PLEASE NO BECKERMAN!!). Saw Twellman on Sportscenter saying he thought Boca will move into the center (didn't say who for) and Parkhurst would get a run out on the left, but that was his speculation.

Definitely not me...she's not even close to being me. She's missing a 9 month pregnant belly.

I should be in the chat for this one, unless some little one may have other plans for me tonight. Crossing fingers.

Klinsmann is still working out his tactics before naming the lineup

So, if Gomez scores a hat trick on the night the little one is born - can expect his name to be Herculez? How 'bout Juergen? Timmy?
I'd go for the gusto and just name him/her Pele.

With the vast array of options Jurgen has at his disposal tonight, this would be my starting XI,

    ---------------Howard
    dolo----Cameron----Boca----Parkhurst
    Kljestan--Bradley---Williams---Dempsey--
    ------------ Gomez----EJ----

I'd guess Klinsman will have Zusi on the right side - for about first 60min or so. Zusi seems to fade later in games, but he keeps showing some flashes - better finishing would be nice.

I like the idea of the 4-1-3-2 (or 4-4-2 diamond) for this one.

I'm in the chatroom. Good to see you other guys. Silly me, I thought a 6 o'clock kickoff meant 6 o'clock. Sigh.

Expecting a baby girl, so soccer guy's names are off. She is already to be named Rachel...mostly inspired by Rachel Buehler. Looked at the Women's soccer roster one night for name ideas, and liked the name Rachel immediately. Haven't met a Rachel yet that I didn't like.

Good game for the guys last night. A little nervous after they gave up the early goal and felt comfortable after Dempsey leveled things soon after. So happy it's USA and Jamaica that are going through from the group.

Shame Canada went out like they did, was so hoping the US would be able to travel to a less hostile environment. Oh well, bring on the piss bags.

^Agree - I like all the Rachels I've met, and they're all damn smart. Good choice. So.........maybe Pele for the middle name then? :)

Good to end with a dominant performance from the US. However, the Guatemalan defending was horrible, even worse than ours. We should have had more than three goals. I hope for the hex Klinsmann has the wisdom and humility to bring in some help because we need it. I cant help but remember Philip Lahm's complaints about how Klinsmann left the defending tactics up to the defenders.

Michael Bradley is superb and EJ is twice the player he was before he went to Europe. If we can have all of our best players healthy for the hex I think we are in good shape. I hope Klinsmann stops playing games with the call ups for players we know should be always be involved. Gomez, EJ and Jozy should be our strikers for every game in the hex. We need to score goals and these players have so little time to get used to each other; they need to be called in every time.

Great support from the KC crowd, but I didnt realize that stadium only seats 16,000. I bet there were quite a few people who werent able to get tickets to the game.

More than happy to eat some crow about EJ coming in and being productive. He deserves a lot of admiration for picking himself up by the bootstraps when his career looked to be over. EJ worked his butt off to earn another opportunity, and Sigi deserves some credit to for helping with the reclamation project.

I know he scored the tying goal last night, but Boca wouldn't be a starter on any other decent team in the world. I can remember on the old site after the 2006 WC  the majority of us wanted to see him get phased out. I don't care if the manager was the best defensive tactician in the world, he couldn't hide Boca's glacier like speed and propensity for a couple bonehead plays a match.

Never watch Serie A, but Michael Bradley has obviously found a home and has gotten even better.

We all have been nervous about waiting for the next wave of talent, and feel a helluva lot better seeing Zusi and Williams stepping up.

Maybe it has been covered before, but any one else notice when Wiliams was down on the ground at one point, he rolled over and his shirt pulled up exposing a tramp stamp? Couldn't make out what tat writing was though. I was telling one of my train passengers, who follows soccer, about it this morning and right after I said it was some sort of writing we both said at the same time, well at least it''s not a butterfly.

:laughing-rolling: Stopped at 'tramp stamp?' initially and had no idea what that was until I had a doh moment  I bet he's heard about it in the locker room.

Boca is slow of foot, but I disagree about bonehead plays...He's one of the smartest players we have, how else could he be a starter for the USMNT at his "advanced" age. That he is picked is a testimony to the lack of quality in the back. He's has for sure, always had a "knack" on offensive corner kicks of being at the right place at the right time. I, for one, would like to thank him for his excellent service to both the USMNT and the "Mighty Whites" back in the day...

Just two world cup qualifying games ago against Jamaica in Columbus, I was there in person. He was my man of the match. I have never noticed a defender command the show the way he did. Cant explain what happened against Ruiz, but I'm not giving up on him yet. Like you said, why has no one been able to unseat him.
