...and this will be the basis of our victory this Saturday.

I'm callin for a 2-0 win for the Whites. I really do think Vidic makes that much of a difference. The key will be putting the ball away after getting a good start unlike the last time, when we did everything in the opening 20 except find the back of the net. This time, I'm sayin AJ and Bobby Z find the that sweet net and we hold em off for a ginormous win.

As silly as it may sound, I'm willing to expect a scarf being washed as a reason for any Fulham success this Saturday.

I am very, very, very glad Fulham won at Bolton last weekend. However, because United looked worse than City against Liverpool, I think they'll use this as a statement game. At home. While en route to a EPL championship.

I'm really hoping Fulham just keeps it together and gives them a fright at the minimum. I'd love a win, sure, but I'd be lying if I wasn't a little concerned. The opposition is still too talented to give balls away and cheaply. I only can see Fulham winning this if they just own that midfield going forward for 90 minutes AND if AJ and whoever his partner is this week can finish those few chances Man. Utd. will allow. When the opponent is this talented, everything has to be on point in order to defeat them.

the ultimate expresion of "Fulhamish" would be a win,and I hope it happens because I could say"I was there"-not sure it's going to happen, however, you never know

    I think I'll create a witty saying:

"That's why they play the game!"

I expect no points from this one but would be thrilled with a draw! I am going to miss this one live to attend a cycling race but will be checking in from my cell and sending out good mojo into the ether.

I can see Fulham drawing or winning... although I thought we could draw or win either of the two previous games too.

A win means we're definitely not getting relegated, and a draw probably means we are not relegated, but we still need to get past 40 to be totally safe.

I am getting very amped up for this game. Couple of reasosns why....

    1. I know this is England and this could change on a dime, but it looks like its going to a phenomenal weather day (actually may have a beer and a cigar in the Cottage beer garden without freezing my nuts off). There I've just jinxed myself.
    2. I will get to see one of the best teams in the world (just being honest) play live against my team at home
    3. Fulham have a chance (albeit slight IMO) to hit 40 and for all intensive purposes, safety.
    4. My wife and my daughter are flying back to Houston tomorrow, so I will be flying solo with a little valuable 'me' time (and will be able to enjoy a few extra malt beverages). A bit mixed feelings here as this will be my first time away from my daughter for an extended period of time since she was born.

I think we are going to get hammered early on by Man Utd. If we can withstand the heat in the first 15, my hopes for a draw will go up significantly. Screw it, I am feeling good, we get all three!

    Lawro's prediction: 1 - 1. ????

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/7939637.stm

Although Manchester United won comfortably in the FA Cup a few weeks back at Craven Cottage, Fulham had a few early chances and if they do the same and one of those goes in on Saturday it could be a nervy afternoon for Sir Alex Ferguson's men.

Manchester United have the players to bounce back from Saturday's defeat by Liverpool and although I have heard the argument that they looked tired, I think it was just a case that they had a bad day at the office.

I think if Fulham get the crowd behind them they could earn a point in this one.

    Verdict: 1-1

Cork: true or false. If London shut down all their pubs on match days, you'd never leave Ireland for a match again.

    Corky,

I will be there before and possibly after. I will probably get there about 12:15 as I do want to sit outside and have a smoke. Head inside around 1ish.

    See you there???

According to the Guardian, Demps is doubtful for tomorrow:

Clint Dempsey is a doubt for Fulham's match with the champions. The American winger has had a bout of food poisoning but will be given until the last minute to declare his availability. Other than that Fulham are relatively untroubled by injury, with only centre-half Aaron Hughes ruled out with a rib problem.

Fulham (from): Schwarzer, Pantsil, Stoor, Hangeland, Konchesky, Baird, Davies, Etuhu, Dacourt, Murphy, Gera, Dempsey, Johnson, Zamora, Zuberbuhler, Kallio, Nevland, Kamara, Gray, Barnes.

Defender Gary Neville is back in the Manchester United squad after recovering from a groin strain. Darren Fletcher, who missed the 4-1 defeat by Liverpool due to a virus, is also in the squad.

Jonny Evans is likely to replace the suspended Nemanja Vidic alongside Rio Ferdinand in central defence.

Manchester United (from): Van der Sar, Foster, Kuszczak, O'Shea, Ferdinand, Evans, Neville, Evra, Eckersley, Fabio, Ronaldo, Nani, Fletcher, Gibson, Carrick, Anderson, Giggs, Scholes, Park, Berbatov, Rooney, Tevez, Welbeck.

    Relative to what exactly?

I'm definitely feeling the Whites will be very much "troubled" without those two in the lineup...

I saw the Sky Sports News report about Clint, but it seems to me that the Hughes thing is for the rib injury that was supposed to keep him out of the Bolton game. Sky had nothing to say about Hughes possibly being out. I think -- hope -- that the Guardian have it wrong about Hughes.
