I was actually commenting on Hughes in the chatroom this morning. He's been absolutely solid, but everyone focuses on the other 3 in the back 4. Paintsil and Konch have their forward runs and speed, and of course, the Hangman is just an absolute beast.

And I'll be honest, Davies falls off my radar because he hasn't been scoring a lot of goals, but his display today was a splendid show of one touches and passing.

They put the wammy on Arteta with this article -- he only lasted 6 minutes today -- he might be hurt with a serious knee problem.

I've criticized Hughes in the past, but there's something to be said for a guy who stays healthy, doesn't miss matches for disciplinary reasons (his record in this regard is nothing short of spectacular - he hasn't seen a yellow card since December 2005), and maintains a constant level through the season.

Hughes is an un sung hero , just does his job and gets on with the game , he's the only good thing to come out of the Sanchez era.

As great as Hughes and Davies have been, I think that grit and hard work has been the m.o. of this team and is their key to staying in the top half of the table.
Everyone keeps their heads down and works hard. They stick to Roy's system and produce results.

Two other good things came out of Sanchez era:
    1. We have Roy Hodgson now... :-D
    2. Chris Baird has developed into a solid backup DM/CH

Pretty good that FFC places two in ten in anyone's book.
