For the last 10 years or so, I've had this goatee thing working for me. Effective last Saturday morning, I'm going back to a full beard. Why? Because I'm too much of a pig to go on a hunger strike, that's why.

I will not go back to my previous high standard of personal grooming until such time as Fulham has recorded their first away league victory of this season. It is my firm hope that my sacrifice will give the first team squad even more resolve to break our duck.

Who will join me on this meaningless quest?

    Anyone? Anyone? Zuberbuhler?

No. Too Patchy. All my hair follicles seem to concentrate in unwanted, unseen places.

Don, I would love to be able to actually grow a decent beard some day. Mine is patchy as well. Plus, I need a clean close shave to reduce the air turbulence created as I knife my way through the air on my bike.

Starting Saturday, I went from clean shaven to a goatee. Does that count?

(admitedly, its 'cause I don't want my face freezing off in Columbus next month)

For no apparent reason, I grew a beard over the holiday period.

Seeing as how I hope to shave this off soon anyway, I'm with you, HD.

Rock on, Nev! Let's hope we don't have to wait until late April like last year!

I like the clean shaven look. Once I tried to grow a goatee. I looked like Charles Manson. It was gone immediately and hasn't returned.

When I read the thread title of "pointless gesture," I thought this was going to be about Obama's executive order freezing the salaries of a handful of his top staff.

Except for Don, who looked like Mitch Miller.

    heh.
It's goatees on early twenties and below that remind of Manson.. or me. if I tried. again.

I'm with you Don, I've been meaning to reply here. My boss & my wife may have an issue with it soon though, so a win yesterday would have been nice.

I also rock a goatee. My full beard makes me look crazy.

Now had you said "I won't shave my beard until the U.S. wins at Azteca"...I would have passed...haha.
