Not sure about Gillingham, perhaps if we changed their name to:

    Gilliganham?

That's Tim Roth - thus, Rotherham. I'll be headed for the bar now to mask my shame...

I would have gotten if I had known that was Tim Roth...he looked familiar but I couldn't recognize him in that photo. I figured it somebody's last name+er+ham.

Btw...What's up with Liddell avatar Mo? Did you watch Chariots of Fire again recently?

I'm not good with actors and actresses or soccer announcers. I never pay attention to their names. I thought maybe it was the guy from the Wolves of Wall street. So Wolv er ham ton. Thus my question about a ton of ham, which it is by the way. Who can eat that much ham?

Havent seen it lately, just love the guy. And apparently that movie might never have been made if Al Fayed hadnt provided the financial backing. I imagine he made his investment back, probably ten times over, but still, he was the first one willing to take the risk on a story many turned down.

I was a kid when the movie came out and thought it was amazing. I was so interested in the athletes, Liddell in particular, that I walked a mile in the snow (really) to get to the public library and research them. I read all the newspapers articles about them from those Olympics and I read Eric Liddell's obituary. He really was a saint. He died young as an imprisoned missionary in China during the Japanese invasion of that country. As part of a prisoner exchange, he could've been freed but he gave his spot to a pregnant woman. I've probably been to the library thousands of times, but pretty much only remember that one afternoon I spent reading about the real people I had just seen in Chariots of Fire. It was the day I realized how amazing public libraries are. Of course now we have the internet, but it's not the same

And, as you're probably aware, much of the movie was shot at Motspur Park.

I didn't know that about Al Fayed or Motspur Park, so thanks for the info.

As for the hams...you could put up a stale, dried out piece of ham for Oldham.
