Thanks guys for the links. Dawkins has obviously had an amazing life, and it was interesting to read that a yank could make a significant contribution to a sport that is foreign to us.

It also reminded me of several other college players who were Rhodes Scholars. Pat Haden who was a great quarterback at USC and a good NFL QB w/the Rams. Also this year Myron Rolle an All-American Safety at Florida State who is bypassing the NFL draft to study at Oxford. The NCAA actually let FSU and their opponent (think it was Maryland) to delay the start time of the game so Rolle could finish his scheduled RS interview process and make it back to the game on time.
