I know that there is a bond between the fans of Fulham and the fans of the Dutch team NEC Njimegen. I have also seen a big NEC flag hung on the wall of the Golden Lion.
Even the Italian Cottagers have chosen NEC as their Dutch team, now.
But what I wonder is how and when this twinning between the two sets of fans was born.

Always great to see a post from you Han, but to be honest I have no idea what the connection is. I would imagine AmericanMike, LBNo11, or AltlantaJohn might be the ones w/the answer.

Seriously, Han; if LBNo11 doesn't respond on this site, post this query on Friends of Fulham. He'll find out for sure.

From what I've heard, there was (is?) a big Fulham fan living in Nijmegen who started recruiting NEC-supporting friends for an annual trip to the Cottage. Started from that, ended up growing into fairly large groups of Fulham supporters among NEC fans and vice versa. Several posters on TIFF go to see NEC at least once a year.

That sounds about right Richard. I know Bert who heads up the NEC boys and they come out in force about twice a season, spend a few days in London and represent themselves and Fulham very well. One year they even made scarves that had NEC on one side and the FFC crest on the other, a great effort.

put away your milk cartons! Collins John is on the bench for NEC today. I don't believe he's featured all season. Perhaps he'll get on for a late equalizer? Or, most likely, for a flurry off off-sides whistles.

wow! I can't believe it. CJ came on at 64 minutes and, after an offsides call :D , assisted on NEC's equalizer in the 84th. NEC scored another -- both goals in the last 10 minutes. CJ make the difference? Who knows, but they were behind on the road after 2 minutes and won the match on two late goals after John came on.

Good on our twins; good on CJ.

Unfortunately he will never put on an FFC shirt again...but great on our NEC boys. I always look out for their results.
