You could hear the fans all game long at Anfield ... right out of the gates it was "Come on Fulham" and didn't stop ... great support!

I think that Villa are going to be tougher then Liverpool, but think that getting a point would be a very good result. If Fulham can get a point at Anfield and Villa Park then there's no reason why that first road win won't come soon enough.
You never know ... maybe we'll bag a couple of goals and take all three points, but as with last week, as long as the boys acquit themselves well and play hard then i'll be pleased.

It's tough to call, in my opinion. Villa have been playing exceptionally well lately, and would be tough to beat at home. So like mentioned before, a tie would be considered a good showing. I'm thinking a 1-1 tie is in order with Bullard performing some sort of magic, either with a free kick or one of those long blasts he's been practicing all season long.

0-0. Both clubs have very solid defenses. Both teams are going to have trouble linking passes in the top third of the field.

FFC has been blessed to be on stateside TV many times this year, so I've had the good fortune to hear Mike and the fans in good voice frequently. Nice job.

Mike, I'm looking forward to Saturday's showing...

Setanta Xtra is on Channel 622 on DirecTV. Basically right after FSC, GolTV, and Setanta. It is the early game. Yes!

Sidenote: Playing an American owned {soccer FAN as opposed to..} team with two American keepers.

AP:The Brads give Aston Villa an American look

    - how Friedel relates to Guzan.
    - why US produces good keepers
    but
in the 'WTF? quote category' Guzan on playing there v here:

Uh... no. Doesnt happen here; doesnt happen there, either.

According to Sky Sports News, Andreassen is fit again and will be included in the squad. As for Villa, Cuellar and Carew will not play.

Having Carew on the bench is a good thing. O'Neill ran Agbonlahor alone up front in a 4-5-1 against Untied. Let's see what he does against us.

this is not a game for taking risks or bringing back players after injury,I think we have to start Demps.I still think we will win this, just have to shut down their midfield although that is easyer said than done!!!!

It'll be very difficult to earn a point but, as they'll miss John Carew, the key will be if Pantsil and Konchesky will handle Agbonlahor and Ashley Young; should it be case (I'm afraid it'll be very unlikely, but not impossible) the game could even finish 0-0.

I just saw on the Sky Sports News bottom line scrolling thing that Hodgson said the same starting XI as last week will be out there tomorrow.

Just cleaning up the house after the invasion by the inlaws for the weekend...

Glad to see the same lineup, Woy apparently knows when he's on to somehting. Even if it took him too long to put Demps in, but that's all in the past.

Tough game, well played by both sides, no prediction, other than I think we have the stones to pull all 3 points, if last week's performance was any indication.

I was really hoping to see Guzan get a start. I think it will be a tight match probably 1-0 to the Villans if I have to predict. I wouldn't be surprised in the least to see us get a point out of this match though.

Friedel doesn't take days off. At least Guzan has gotten a start or two in Europe and the League Cup. The only way we'll see Guzan between the pipes in the Prem this season is if Friedel gets hurt.

I'd really like to see if Zat Knight can do what he did in this fixture last season -- give up an o.g. -- but O'Neill hasn't started him in ages.

See yez in the chatroom chilluns!

That's a well taken point on the road! Pretty entertaining as far as 0-0 matches go. Zamora, Dempsey, and Hangeland were very solid. Poor stuff from Davies. Schwarzer was both excellent and scary. Really solid defensive game by the whole team, though Villa really were pouring it on. A well earned point. Also a lucky point. But whatever, keep them coming.

Re: Guzan, was just hoping to avoid the Freidel. We stole another point on the road, but you have to do that at a club like Villa to have success. While I'd like to say we earned the points and would have liked some goals, I'm fine with not conceding any either. Good point, good result, nice to stay (in all likelihood) in the top 10 for another week.

Unfortunately had an appointment with rollers and paint brushes (we've been promising the daughter a room makeover) and could only periodically check the score. Shout out to Han Solo for correctly predicting the nil-nil final. To get 2 points from these two away matches is tremendous and keeps the train moving in the right direction.

How bout the CB combo nickname of H2O (Hang-man + Hughes and the opponents leave w/a goose egg)?

Damn fine showing by the Ws!

Don said it in the chat room -- I wouldn't trade our back four or our keeper for anyone else's in the league.

2 points on the road from top four teams is a very good result, hats off to the boys.

Also, with the upturn in our road form, I'm calling it now -- nest road game is at the paradise called Stoke-- a win to the Fulham that day :D I saw in an interview w/ Jay DeMerit that he called Stoke his least favorite place in England. That's good enough for me!

I'm not as enthused about the game. While Schwarzer and the backline were on point, especially when facing 11 corners, the offense was almost non-existent.

Clint Dempsey, I'm pretty sure had the only 2 shots on net all game. Konchesky and Davies didn't do well crossing, Zamora worked hard for little results, Andy Johnson didn't do much of anything of consequence, and the attack lended itself to giving away possession more often than not. Roy should be pleased - as we all should be - that the defense kept Accountant Martin O'Neill's team scoreless. But had Gareth Barry or Steve Sidwell had better luck with their headers, FFC's impotent offense would have ensured the loss.

Getting a point on the road is good; but I feel that if Fulham wants to gets wins rather than draws on the road, then they really need to improve their attacking. That means practicing crosses, designing tactics to mix it up from the standard cross-to-the-center, and passing in general. Given FFC will be back in familiar grounds, I am hopeful they will put on a better offensive display.

Another point from a top 5 team away!

    Fulham manager Roy Hodgson:

Roy's quote mirrored my own thoughs. The defense was not perfect but it was good enough. The offense totaled only five shots and that needs to get better. No matter what your spin on the match is this was a good point.

Hangeland makes ESPN's first 11 for this past weekend

    AND

Hangeland and Murphy make BBC's Squad of the Week.

Good recognition from these folks the past two weeks. Perhaps we're beginning to peek a tiny bit above the radar.
