I was at the Argentina game at Giant's Stadium.

Between being there, talking to others who were there (both USA and MEX fans), and watching it twice on TV, I would guess the following:
    - 20k-25k USA Fans
    - 30k-40k Argentina Fans
    - the balance (15k-30k) were there to see the star players on the Argentina team, though they cheered for the USMNT.

Hopefully we turned some of the 15-30k into stronger USA supporters.

We just need to keep doing that. Play matches at home - against nations that will pull in numbers, and play well (Like the Argentina match) and win over the neutrals, and convert some of the internationals so they will at least support the USA as long as we play anyone but their home country.

At some point the snowball will build to the point of critical mass.

(I have used that phrase, "Critical Mass." And as they say on Princess Bride, "I dont think it means what you think it does. I thought it was an description of forces acting on an object in motion (Sort of correct), but it actually has to do with an amount of fissionable material that will sustain a nuclear chain reaction at a constant level. You probably give 2 craps about this - but I am a Science teacher, and I thought it was interesting.)

For me - this is the biggest match of my football life. USA-Mexico playing when it matters... There is nothing better. I love Spurs / Arsenal, and Fulham / Chelski... but if I had to choose, I would pick USA - Mexico.

    Come on you Yanks!

Jensers. I agree that the momentum is going our direction; we're just not quite there yet. We make it to the semi's of WC2010 and all that will change.

I'm just waiting for the tickets to go on sale. I don't care if it is 5 degrees out, I will make that hour drive down to Columbus. This is it for me. I may not be able to see any World Cup games in the next couple of decades, but Mexico v USA in my own backyard? That's just as good.

Yep, NorthEnd. But that's where the stage is now.
We expect CrewStadium to put temp bleachers on the stage, though. That will be brilliant because the stage roof is designed with stage sound in mind.
The entire stage section {and two adjoining} will probably be allocated to Sam's Army

And btw.... Scroll up to see WHY you have to use the Horiz scroll bar on this thread.

US vs. Mexico tickets are curently being sold by USMNT supporters groups from their allotment.

The link listed in this posting has been pulled and is no longer valid.

US Soccer is saying that NO tickets are on sale yet and the ones out there now are a hoax (the link in the post above is dead, so might have been removed).

As someone on the "first option" e-mail list, I'll post when they're available.

Also FYI, Sons of Ben (Philly) is putting on a bus to Columbus, as are the Screaming Eagles (DC).

Ives did indeed pull the posting from his blog. This was not referreng to the StubHub sham. It was previously reported that two of the major supporters groups were listing tickets for sale on their websites. Perhaps somebody got an itchy trigger finger.

OK. You can get the pricing from USSoccer, even though the tix are not on sale yet. The Screaming Eagles (DC Supporters Group) are offering (for non-members) the following:

    $60 game ticket (supporter's section)
$130 game ticket plus hotel room (double occupancy)

They don't have bus details worked out yet, so I've decided to drive there from Baltimore (likely using my minivan). Those of you in the Baltimore/DC area - let me know if you're interested.

Andy I dont see this ticket info on the US soccer website. How did you get it? I called US Soccer (forgot to ask about prices) and they said that they will announce the day tickets will go on sale before they actually do go on sale.

Mo. Correct, they haven't announced the ticket sale date yet, but have provided some of the supporter groups with pricing information (esp. for group pricing). These groups are beginning to gather money so that they're ready to purchase the tix as soon as they're available.

The way it has worked in the past:
    - US Soccer only does group orders - min. order of 20 or 30 tickets.
    - Individual tickets are through ticket master, though deal with US Soccer and VISA allows US Soccer members 24 hours to buy tickets on ticketmaster before they go on sale to the general public (I suspect that may not happen this time).
    - Ticket master does add $10+ to the ticket price whereas group purchases are $10 processing fee for the lot (i.e., not each ticket, just per purchase).

I would recommend checking with Sams Army and American Outlaws to see if they have a Cleveland Chapter that is planning on making a group order.
