I know there was another thread, but it was all over the place. The Eastern Final is about to start on ESPN2 from Columbus and while I'm generally lukewarm on the MLS this one should be great. Really hoping we get a match report from someone at the game. The winner should end up taking it all, and I'll pick the home team.

It's impossible for me to call this one. So, for the sake of keeping things balanced I'm going to say Chicago will win.

I want Columbus to win because if the Red Bulls move on, I would be absolutely frightened to face an angry-for-Osorio Fire team for a fourth straight loss in the final.

    Well, well, well....

After seeing the atmosphere in Crew stadium that I can only recall in maybe two Crew games, and close to matching US v Mexico... and watching a great game with McBride scoring his BEAUTIFUL TRADEMARK way...and considering the hell Crew fans have been put through for the last 5 years. And considering that I was all for McBride going to Chicago, even with all the rules contortions MLS had to apply to get him there.

And I see on HERE that, because of McBride, Chicago 'DESERVED' to win?!!!!

Well... you two can kiss my ass!

    Really.

And I'm sorry if I offend Mo... but I expect a dumfuk response from CF. Even though he complains about the US fans not having the passion seen in England... but from YOU???

You think MCBride took it personal? You think he will root for RSL because of that booing?!!!

    You guys piss me off.

You crack me up Petty. Good for you. Keep talking that way and maybe the Crew will get my sympathies - not that it will bring them any luck mind you.

I missed the match -- choir practice -- but I'm pissed that Columbus fans would boo McBride. How can you boo the man? I've been pulling for Yellow Submarine USA all season for this?

Crew fans memories are as short as their dicks. Come on the RSL!

Let me see here: Famous American player returns to the league where he got started up in and...spurns his old club to play for one of their biggest rivals. And we're surprised that he gets booed for in the most important game of the season so far?

Really? That's what I'm reading? That people are surprised and/or shocked by this?

    What?

In the name of the old NFL [Dallas in the East; Atlanta in the West], how is New York in the West and Chicago in the East????????

edited: oops; I really shouldn't post until my caffeine has kicked in.

Glad to see we have a few people backing RSL in their first playoff stint. Hoping they get the result they deserve on Saturday.

    Any Club but Columbus!!!!!!!!!

Although, I have to say there are some real twats that are RSL fans who post or moderate on BS. However, mostly twats posting or moderating on BS anyway, so they probably just have their fair share.

I'll go with the underdogs now, NY Redbulls. Although, without McBride in it, I am back to square one. Which means I will most likely forget when the next playoff or final is.

I stayed up and watched the entire game, apart from the start of the second half (at half time i started watching the Pats Jets game, when i returned the Fire had made it 1-1, in truth i only tuned into the game to see Brian play and he repayed me with a trade mark header (Genius!), the fire fans were singing Traitor Traitor which brought a smile to my face. even Maca was smiling. Good game though and the fire just about did enough to win.
Wolf had a poor game and Maca had a good chance at the end, who's the left winger/midfield for the Fire? he looked good

First the Dogbreath rip, now this? Haven't seen such vitriol from you without someone referencing Jimmah Carter. Good stuff.

While I'm hardly an MLS supporter, I am kinda partial to RSL from what little I've watched. They play on a proper football pitch, their fans seem up for it, and I kinda dig the bagpipes.

Still having trouble wrapping my mind around Real Salt Lake. Seems they and Houston would be better fit to swap monikers.

VB, that's John Thorrington. Trained at Old Trafford and played a couple of seasons with Huddersfield.
