    - Priceless!

It might have been more effective if the customer had given the waiter a chit thanking him for redistributing his wealth, and maybe split it 50%

This made me laugh, a little guitily as I can't justify stiffing a waiter/waitress on the tip.

I like this from the comments blog -- it will be plagiarized in my classroom.

I am high school teacher- I have done experiments with students’ grades- they have to pay a tax over 80% - with tax getting steeper after 90 and 95%.

I often hear- its not fair- I worked for my grade

I don't believe a word of this. Nobody who is dependent on tips for the majority of his income is going to put on a partisan campaign button less than two weeks before a contentious election. This is yet another little parable made up for the occasion.

Of course, I don't believe that giving a tax cut to people who earn less than 150k is redistricution of grassroots wealth either, and everyone else obviously does, so why try to inject a little bit of logic to the discussion.

Wait let me try again; perhaps I'm missing something.

nationalizing investment companies = free-market capitalism
    proposing a middle-class tax cut = socialism

Nope, still doesn't ring any more logical or more likely than the waiter with the Obama tie story.

Very simplistic anologies for very complicated problems. Where have I seen or heard comparisons like these before................hmmm.......???? I'll bet Don knows.

That's ALSO priceless, WB... shows you pay about as much attention to 'nuance' as the guy who gave the tip to the homeless guy.

Do whatever you need to do to make yourself feel better...you KNOW you're nervous as hell.

    -heh.

See that? Don's ALREADY using my 'bailout' decision against me.

Sometimes you have to take a public stand that makes you ill... unlike some I wont duck the issue.
