I just hope that we actually go to the bench during the game. Reading the past couple of match reports, Roy seems to stick with the same guys. Sometimes you got to go to the bench to get a spark or a new look.

Here's a link to the BBC preview:

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/footbal ... 639466.stm

    And here's SOCCERNET'S:
    http://soccernet.espn.go.com/preview?id ... ague=ENG.1

Match day squad: Fulham (from): Schwarzer; Pantsil, Hughes, Hangeland, Konchesky; Davies, Bullard, Murphy, Gera; Zamora, Seol, Zuberbuhler, Nevland, Dempsey, Andreasen, Kallio, Baird, Stoor, Gray.

Gray is newly added, as is Stoor. There's speculation that AJ could be replaced by either Seol, Erik the Dutchman [hiya SCJ! ] or the Deuce. We'll see.

Nevland played for the reserves on Wednesday, and I won't try to get into Woy's mind, but maybe he plays (because of the warm-up on Wed.) or maybe he remains rooted to the bench (likely).

Also, Zamora is allegedly fighting the bird-flu or something, so I doubt he'll be available for 90, if at all.

Based on this year's selections, I see a 4-5-1 (with likely Seol or a well-hydrated Zamora alone up top - geez I hope that's the Ketel One talking), and the 5th midfielder is anybody's guess. Indeed, if that is the case, I'll reserve judgment

I stick to the away win I predicted - after all, it would be rather Fulhamish after the consecutive defeats.

And HD, callin' out SCJ - man, you're a glutton for punishment!!!

    COYW!

I'm sure ole Roy is having a sleepless night as he tries to put his starting line up together. AJ out and now Zamora sick and didn't practice on Thursday. I'm sure that Zamora will gut it out and start. I see Seol getting the start ahead of Dempsey or Nevland. No matter whose # he calls, I see us getting our first draw of the year (1-1).

I'll be hiding from the result in about an hour and watch on dvr later today. Given the circumstances, I'd normally call for the tie but as stated previously, a win would be most Fulhamish. COYW!!

Here's hoping for a Dempsey sighting.

Fulham: Schwarzer, Pantsil, Hughes, Hangeland, Konchesky, Davies, Bullard, Murphy, Gera, Zamora, Dempsey.
Subs: Zuberbuhler, Ki-Hyeon, Nevland, Stoor, Andreasen, Kallio, Baird

Looks like we have a sighting.

    Quick first half thoughts:

    - Dempsey looks pretty good, very active.
    - While Zamora is pretty creative, he tries to be too cute at times.
    - Bullard is not playing well. He has turned the ball over many times already.

Overall, not bad. Hopefully we can get three points out of this match.

FFC isnt looking too good right now. a lot of mistakes meant loss of opportunites. WestBrom is domniating (defensively). Were better than that. well at least Dempsey is off the bench today.

lets see if the 2 mins of stoppage time helps

Well, that was a dreary second half to say the least...

I'm afraid we're in for another season full of away day blues. We're a better side than West Brom on paper, but they completely took over in the second half. Bednar could've had two had he fired much sooner on that late chance. Meanwhile, we could barely generate anything the entire half, and on top of that, we gave away the ball cheaply and gave away free kicks just as easily as well.

That's one goal we've scored in the last three Premiership matches, and that one came on a penalty...

    Schwarzer- Fine

    Pantsil- Poor defending, poor attacking

Hangeland- Decent, just the odd mistake

    Hughes- Fine

Konchesky- Our best player, saved us a few times, good takeaways, did well to clear in tight spaces, did well attacking down the wing

    Davies- Useless crosses, offered nothing

Bullard- Worst game he's had for us, couldn't even pass to people right beside him

Murphy- Useless, all giveaways, no takeaways, no bite, can't pass, can't shoot, can't tackle, petulant schoolboy when replaced, sell him to Brighton and Hove Albion or something

Gera- No wonder he left WBA, he wouldn't get a game for them

Dempsey- Good first half, frustrated and useless 2nd half

Zamora- No service, did okay, but isolated and poor

    Seol- Made an impact

Andreason and Storr- whatever, no time

I think it's telling that we played the last 20 minutes without a striker. Seol and Dempsey are not strikers, they are attacking midfielders. We have three strikers, Zamora isn't much, Johnson isn't settled yet, and I guess Nevland is just going to be a spectator. And I don't think Kamara coming back will excite anyone.

The worst part of our game is our crosses, I think they are shite. Half the time they go out of play, the other half there is one guy there and four defenders, we have no chance of ever creating anything from crosses like this.

It was nice to see Roy make a sub. When Seol came on, things looked better and he made a real impact. Makes you wonder what would have happened if we subbed against Blackburn or West Ham.

That win against Arsenal made it seem like it might not be a relegation battle this season, but it will be.

Absolutely shocking how bad the team played in the second. Murphy and Bullard were outplayed by their centermids, the backline looked like they had rollerskates on (ALL 4 OF THEM!!). I sure hope when Danny got subbed and threw down the armband in disgust that it was over his own dreadful play (3 of the worst giveaways imaginable). Bobby Z looked sick as a dog and should have been subbed well before the 70 minute mark. I thought Clint was the best player in black and red, BUT the one great chance of the entire second half and he messes up the free header

Let's see, no goals since the first half of Bolton. The team shelled out over 10 million pounds for AJ, we need a return on the investment on Oct 18. period. The thing that really pisses me off is Davies, Dempsey, and Seol seemed the only three guys that matched WBA's intensity and fight. This is a veteran team that better come out with their shorts on fire the next match! :x

Shite. That's all I have to really say about that game. I hope the break will give them some time to heal up, collect themselves and figure out a way to get some better shots off. I am satisfied with the play of Schwarzer but he needs more support on defence(Pansil this means you). I did watch a game where a team didn't give up even in extra time to get a point. I was hoping it would have been Fulham and WBA, but instead it was Sunderland vs. Arsenal. It sucks but we will recover from this. Learn from this shite now, or we are going to end up paying for it later.

P.S. Has anyone heard anything about Kamara lately? You think he would have at least been in the stands for this one.

    Yech.

Bully had the worst game I ever saw him play, even in the first half when we looked better I still thought he was poor -- same for Murphy. I'll assume Murphy is professional enough not to have meant dropping the armband on the ground as anything other than frustration over his own lousy performance.

The Deuce at least has played himself back into view for ol' Woy.

Hats off to Bednar who looked very good all match.

Between West Ham last week, Albion today, and Sundland in 2 weeks at CC, that was the most winnable stretch on our schedule all season (says I).

All I know about Kamara is physioroom.com says he is out until January.

I'm going to turn on the Smiths really loudly, lock myself in a closet, and  like a baby now.

After Dempsey's performance today, if he's not in the starting XI in 2 weeks, then its clear that he has no future at Woy's Fulham.

IMO, this is two bad games in a row for Bullard and Murphy. It's time to sit one or both for at least a game to provide them with some perspective.
