Here are some of the improvements your Senate leadership has added to the bill to help it pass. That's an additional $150B added for those keeping score at home. None of which gives the bill any better chance of actually working.

Oh yeah, it's a "recovery" now, not a "bailout", even though it's essentially the same damned bill. And they say they'll go back after the first of the year and work on the details later. Yeah, that's worked out real well with Social Security, Iraq, the Patriot Act, etc, etc.

You'd think the people who have inspired so little confidence as to earn a LOWER approval rating than Bush would at least have some clue as to why. Apparantly not.

Nope, they sure don't FulhamAg, hence their approval rating.

But, I'd like to offer a personal thanks to Congress for adding tax-cuts to a bill that increases this country's debt. Great idea.

How are we gonna pay for all of this? Seriously.

And if it's only from the potential profits from this deal (a la the SNL crisis, which did make $$, so I don't think it's impossible), then I'm highly skeptical. Wars cost money, social programs cost money, where is this coming from if not for creating debt for future generations and me and my family. damn.

The pre and post vote speeches by all the party leaders in the senate tonight only reinforce what I said about Nancy Pelosi in this thread.

As Chris Dodd said, 'the leaders set the tone.'
