I'm really looking forward to seeing Giles suit up.

I thought we lost Cousin because of that whole "no playing competitive matches for three different clubs in a single season, unless the third one is Liverpool" rule.

In any case they made specific provision earlier today for finalizing, after the deadline, deals that had been agreed to in principle before the deadline because of the snowstorm in London.

Yeah and it took an entire month for them to rule on our appeal.

Not to mention they let Collins John appear for us in (I think) one game and for two different teams on loan that same season.

You're also forgetting each ManUnited transfer where a player is tapped up -- or in Berbatov's case, negotiating on his own. Not to mention Defoe's illegal transfer back to Tottenham that was just swept under the rug. Or the whole Tevez affair with West Ham AND ManUnited. Or Mascherano playing for Liverpool. Or Ashley Cole going to Chelsea. Or every deal with 'Arry that sees a bung his way.

    Ins: Gray*, Barnes, Dacourt

    did I miss anybody?

We had 385 posts for this transfer period -- for THAT?

Hey well I'll take the glass half full view on this one. Our last loan signing from the Italian league did pretty well for us and if we had a manager then who was half as smart as the one we have now maybe he'd still be doing well for us. Speaking of which what is that little man doing these days!? Nevland's good but I like Montella more.

Good to see you've finally come around on Mr. Murphy Don! Now you can concentrate on reforming your views on Obama

Nevland has scored twice as many goals for Fulham as Montella did, and has yet to get himself suspended either.

Montella was on Roma's bench earlier in the calendar year, but I haven't seen his name recently.

    And stop picking on Cookie!

No need to reform my views, senor. I never disliked the guy; I just liked the other guy more [and I still do].

I'm not picking on Cookie (who picked up quality players like McBride and Davies and Dempsey and Niemi and, yes, Bullard on a shoestring budget), I'm picking on l'Aeroplanino because he was (in my opinion) a disappointment.

Wait, what? I count four goals for Nevland vs. five for Montella in a Fulham shirt. Not that it's important (and it's off topic), I'm just confused.

I think 3 or 4 of Montella's goals were in the FA Cup, so Nevland has definitely scored more in league play.

Sorry, that's true - I was looking at counts on Wikipedia for sake of convenience, and their player template only lists league goals; Montella had that brace in the FA Cup against Leicester (I think). Adding those two to the three league goals makes five. Nevland has four but Wiki says six. That'll teach me to trust Wikipedia.

Did everyone see that Andreasen got sent off with two yellow cards in his first match in Germany?

no! I completely missed that. I was going to check the BL scoreboard for Sunday and never got around to it.

Well, at least he's with his family.
