Hate to say it, but this might be a pretty big consideration for me and many others as to whether I and we swing one way or the other.

Obama picks, and Biden accepts, I'll be looking for the place to buy my sticker.

Well, if it is an Obama sticker, you will fit in nicely in San Jose, where if you are not left, your out. :)

I like Biden a lot. His ego can be his downside but an upside all the same. His views what I know of them are essentially in line with mine. As far as gaining votes though, I'm not sure he does it. I tend to think alot of people will be put off by him.

I do say Biden v Romney will be a hell of a VP debate. Pawlenty could throw him some curve balls, the guys got a real understated charm about him. He'd have Libermen for lunch though.

And fog, you're the biggest piece of work I've come across. You can't possibly be like this in real life.

ugh, I was leaning toward Obama and then he picks Biden - a loud, grandstanding, partisan, sensationalist who likes to put his foot in his mouth. I'm sure Obama picked him for his blue-collar background.

At one point people were speculating that Obama would pick Hagel and McCain would pick Lieberman - now that would have been interesting.

I think he picked Biden because of the age and experience thing. Also because he was a boy wonder as a senator himself. I think it's a shame that he was never considered a viable candidate because of his bland personality. So now the Democratic ticket is Great personality/no substance for president, and no personality/great substance for veep. Obama could have done much worse.

My concern now is the fact that the dirty right-wing character sliming has dropped Obama in the polls. I'm afraid that this will convince McCain to embrace this tactic and abandon who he really is. If he does fight like a Neocon, they'll claim credit for his victory and try to get control of his administration. Stay the course, senator; be your own man.

He also could have done much better. For instance, I was thinking Bayh.... then I thought again. NO WAY he's picking a guy with better credentials for Prez than either candidate.
"IF you elect us, I'll have even more influence than you thought Dick Cheney did!"
WTH would I do without my straight man! Thanks for the thread Don.

I never thought Bayh had a chance. You don't balance a liberal senator from Illinois with a liberal senator from Indiana.

Yeah, Don... except when we Ohio Conservatives let Ted Strickland in, we were praying he'd be like Bayh. SOME people put state before party.

Jury's out but it's not looking like it.

I've identified the ticket I will be voting for. And it contains the Irishman....

    O'Bama/Biden!

Call him ostentatious, call him persnickity, call him full of himself. I don't give a damn. He's smarter than the current President, and smarter than the one being put forth by the Elephants. And I'm just talking about the Vice Presidential candidate for the Dems.....!!!

I've got to admit, I can't imagine any VP nominee Obama could've picked stronger than Biden. He complements him well, covering the experience and foreign policy areas very well. Most Republicans I know respect him, even if they don't agree with everything he says.

Most Republicans like and respect him because he's a FUN GUY and not all full of himself {unless it's in a hearing and cameras are rolling.. but, hey}. One you'd love to be sitting on a bar stool and bulsheeting with.

Including me. In fact, that would be a good thread topic, so...
