Is it too early to circle the date Dec 1?

Should the thread be renamed to the "Endless Summer of Speculation only to have our two of our better players move across town to Spurs?"

So did wenger just sit around all day? All that transfer money and he has no interest in an inexpensive proven goal scorer mind boggling

The drama is finally over! Sad to see Dempsey go but so glad he didnt go to Liverpool. At least Tottenham is a step up.

Wow! Didn't see that coming before today. It's probably a better fit for Clint than Liverpool actually. He can fill the spot Van Der Vaart vacated and provide striker depth if need be.

I'd have preferred he stayed with us but I'm certain that ship sailed a month or two ago.

Can't blame the club at all for rejecting those Liverpool offers if the numbers are right. What a joke they've (Pool) been this window.

It appears the 23 shirt is available...don't see anyone else's name beside it on their shop name choices.

Nope. Just checkin' to see if he gets to keep his number. Nuthin' at all about him on their website yet, either. All Lloris, all the time.

LMAO! No I think I like the MJ one...but, no...not for my avatar. And the Dempsey one...never.

On a different note, I know it's done this way all the time but I am always amazed how quickly jerseys and such are just GONE, as SOON as a player leaves. Worldsoccer shop...soccer.com...FFC online store...23 is just GONE! Like it never happened. Amazing.

True story; when Terrel Owens and the Cowboys parted ways, I found a replica jersey that weekend in a Ross store marked down to $9.99. That shirt had sold two weeks before for $69.

btw...I took the Owens off the back of it and am waiting for the next #81 star to come around.

Gutted gutted gutted gutted. So sad to see such a pivotal player for us move across town. He was there when I first started following the club and he's done so much these past few years despite having to claw his way into the starting lineup multiple times with managerial changes. I take solace in the fact that I tolerate spurs more than the other London clubs and hope he's able to do well there.

I posted this to FB and for better or worse I will post here now again: Obviously, the big one is Clint Dempsey. The first time in the 7 seasons following the mighty Cottagers that there isn't an American on the first team squad (Go Emerson Hyndman, Go USA!). The club is more than any one player. Thank you Clint for some amazing moments. The goal against Juve was nothing short of sublime. Seeing you play in person at the Cottage against Wolfsburg made me proud to be a supporter of Fulham, football and American Football (soccer). You pushed the bar up for American players far past anywhere that Landon Donavon "chose to", and I respect your move for whatever reason(s) you have (no CL there this year). Best of luck to you at Spurs. Note, if you score against us either at White Hart Lane or the Cottage there is a rabid dog waiting to sever your achilles. Love Chris... FTID

Even though you know it's probably gonna go down, and you hope against hope that it doesn't, it' still disappointing. I guess the Champions League talk was code for 'I want more money.' And the tweets. Two sides to every story, and the truth will come out. When? Didn't sound like it was gonna be today, or ever. "That's in the past now and we move on." No, you keep your word and tell the truth and the other side of the story.

Still a fan, but not like before. Between this and Pujols, my rooting interests are at the end of my proverbial rope.

Won't tomorrow be interesting? (And why the transfer period and/or the season overlapping like this is a cruel joke).

Spurs...I just threw up in my mouth a little.

Yeah he gets CL, but I really hate the way this went down. He says he want CL football, who can blame him, but it appears no one came calling early. IMO he should have manned up and trained and been ready to play. Not Fulham's fault there were no early suitors. Is it Fulhams job to shop him around? I know he said on Twitter "there are two sides to the story" and "The truth will come out soon." So unless Fulham is lying and there were offers can't be sure of what his gripe is. Maybe we will find out what happend someday. To me, as of now, Clint has come out of this looking the worse.

From somewhat following Clint when he played for the NE Rev's to my first, and so far only Fulham match, against Reading in Nov 07 when he scored the winning goal to put us up 2-1 one our way to al 3-1 win are what helped make me a Fulham fan and I will never forget that. Add his goal against Juve and countless others and I will always appreciate what Clint has done for my love of the beautiful game. I do wish him luck, of course execpt agains us, but it is going to look funny seeing him in a Spurs uniform, ecpecially when he plays at the Cottage the first time.

Well at least it wasn't Chelski....
