The entire '96 Olympics (before, during and after)...especially when my cat got out, causing me and my friends to miss going to Olympics Park the night of "The Bombing."

Does anyone have DirecTv and if so, do you know what station the NBC Soccer channel will be?

I dont have direct TV but I have been trying to find out how to tune in to the Olympic Soccer channel. One website said that it will be available to most if not all cable and satellite providers. However, they said that you should call your provider and ask if they will broadcast it. Of course, I'm the type who doesnt like asking for directions so I'm not about to do this, but I would recommend it for you.

As far as the women's game tomorrow and the mens game on Thursday, MSNBC will be showing them live.

If you have not found them yet the Olympic channels are 750-755 on Directv but some of them are HD only I think.

The mens 4x100 freestyle relay will now forever be one of my favorite summer Olympic memories. That had to be one of the top finishes to any relay event I have ever seen. Nice of the Fench to talk smack and fuel the media coverage too! I just wonder how it must feel for the teams that went under the existing world record and did not even medal?

Yep the swimming was pretty awesome last night. Hard to top that. Much of the attention up here is being paid to the stabbing death. The victim was a prominent local(Minnesotan) businessman.

Haven't heard anything of the pollution issue since the games have actually started.

Thoroughly enjoyed the 2008 Olympics although the TV coverage left a bit to be desired as usual. China did a wonderful job hosting.

    Best moments:

    1) The USA team performances

USA womens soccer - they won gold despite early setbacks, what a team and hats off to Pia. Maybe all those who think the US needs foreign coaches are right.

USA mens soccer - they showed the heart, hussle, and never-say-die attitude that keeps me an ardent fan of the MNT and they gave me hope for the future of US soccer.

USA Redeem team - truly did redeem themselves and what could be better than that. Lebron is amazing.

USA Mens Volleyball team - after the tragic stabbing death of the coach's father in-law, they played inspired volleyball and took the gold.

USA Men's Water Polo - Serbia rolled over in their match-up with Italy because they preferred to play the USA and then the USA shows them the door with a 10 -5 crushing defeat.

    2) Men's 100 free relay - amazing finish

    3) Lauren Williams - for the second olympics in row she ran the anchor leg of the 4 X 100 and botched the exchange for a DQ, She ran back, picked up the baton and finally ran her leg of the race.

    4) Womens marathon - great finish.

    * I would like to include Brian Clay's win in the decathalon but NBC barely covered what is arguably the 1st or 2nd most prestigous track and field event so I barely have a memory of it.

    5) Ethiopians Bekele and Dibaba both winning the 5K and 10K for their country.

Micheal Phelps winning the 100m butterfly by one one-hundreth of a second. I thought the men's 4 x 100 was the best finish to any race I had ever seen but that was before the fly. I think it was the third or fourth camera angle before I finally agreed in my own mind that Phelps actually won the race.

Usain Bolt's ridicoulous perfromance in the 100 meters. I have never seen anyone dominate an individual elite event the way he did.

I would like to give prop's to Kobe Bryant for a number of things he said and did. But most of all for -finally- turning into a leader.

The other might be interpreted as 'political'.
    heh...
