Hopefully Fulham will kick off the Korea tour with a strong and injury free performance.

    2-0 to Fulham

Seol and Bullard with the scoring.

Any score at all is fine as long as nobody gets hurt.

By the way, I haven't been able to find the traveling squad. Anybody have it -- oh, and Josh, that's how I am with any preseason friendly.

Hey! Is "Busan" the same place that we called "Pusan" back in the days of Pettyfog and me?

One and the same, apparently Busan is closer to the Korean pronunciation.

    Andreasen at center back. Interesting

I wouldn't be too worried about this. They played a match on Saturday, flew halfway around the world and then played another match in less than 5 days.

Weird, we picked up Pascal Zuberbühler on trial. You may remember him from the Switzerland team in the '06 World Cup, who were eliminated despite not conceding a single goal.

Well, it's not that weird when you consider that (according to wikipedia) he made his debut for Switzerland in 1994, when the head coach was a guy named Roy Hodgson...

What he said. Just trying to get some matches under our belt, I would think.

Random note: The city of Busan is right across the Korea Strait from my hometown in Japan...

Yeah, the loss doesn't really matter. To me the two interesting things were...

    A) Zuberbuhler showing up on trial. Played a half season with West Brom two years ago, but has played almost his entire career in Switzerland. Suggests to me that Keller isn't coming back and/or Niemi might be out the door.

    B) Andreasen getting a run at center back. With a number of other options at that position next to Hangeland, this suggests to me that Roy isn't happy with those other options and that there may not be a new player coming in to play there either, despite prior rumors to the contrary.

2 points I gathered from the match:

    1. Where is Dempsey?

    2. EJ almost scored, good sign!

"Almost scored" is EJ's middle name.

He apparently came on as a sub against Celtic. But yeah, that's all I've heard about him this preseason.

I still haven't seen a "traveling roster" anywhere. I did hear that Steve Davis didn't make the trip. This observation was made in conjunction with more Rangers transfer speculation.

Well, for once, EJs lack of goal was (based on the report) more to do with an amazing save from the goalie rather than his poor finishing. I see that as a positive.

Playing Andreasen in the middle could mean there is some truth to the speculation of Jimmy Bullard going back to Wigan. They are supposed to be planning a 6 million pound offer. Fulham only paid 2.5 for him. Would hate to lose Bullard. Notice neither Davies or Dempsey were named for the match. I would not read too much into a loss like this. Could be selling Bullard to help play for AJ from Everton. It would be quite a front line Zamora and Andrew Johnson.
