    ... player in the Prem?
... player to pull on a shirt for the W's?

I'm sure Ironhead will get a vote or three, but I was hoping to get a feel for some that were before his time also.

My toughest player in the EPL is, of course, Cristiano Ronaldo.

Seriously, I think Nemanja Vidic is a force in the central back line for the Evil Empire. Also, Carragher when he is on his game. Any others?

WOW! Vidic AND Carragher? You set the bar HIGH.

I like Jagielka in that category. Prior to this season, I thought Gary Neville was about as tough as they get, but injuries got him. Stelios for Bolton was pretty tough as was Sol Campbell when he was with Arsenal. Don't see him as much with Pompey. Carsley with Everton. Hmmm.

As for the Ws, I have a relatively short history with them. Ian Pearce scored an equalizer with a busted foot; that was major cojones territory. But Macca was as tough as they come. In the old days, Norman Hunter of Leeds was pretty tough, along with Jim Baker. Niall Quinn was pretty tough for a big skinny lad. And Eric Cantona was not only tough, but he was a seriously crazy fekker as well.

I hope that Martin-in-Nashville, Cleveland Simon, and GBFC might weigh in on this one for the toughest Mighty White!

Was Ian Pearce's broken-foot goal this season? Regardless, only the rawest of the raw would do something like that.

As far as the EPL, I was under the impression that Blackburn was a team loaded with grit/toughness/whatever you call it? I do not know why, but I have that impression.

All time, I've heard about this "Duncan Ferguson?" Aside from being an Everton hero, he also got into trouble with the law from something on the field?
