Uh, that was a rhetorical question.
On Rossi, concensus is not whether he would impress; but if he would ever be capped for Italy.

6 goals in 17 appearances for their U21 team. I wouldn't be surprised to see him on their Olympic team this summer.

    It's official.

"Arriving Spanish Primera Division, also with Villarreal, is a dream coming true"

So what do you all think? Was Jozy interviewed in Spanish and just poorly translated into English, or was he interviewed in English and then translated into Spanish and back to English? (I'm assuming this isn't a direct quote of something Jozy said in English.)

It does kind of have that "English directions for putting together Swedish furniture" or "English-language menu in Greece" feel.

Jozy was on the bench today for Villareal's match. He didn't feature, but this tells me something about the club's interest in him. He hasn't been loaned out to a lower league ... yet. Hope he'll get a match soon.

No he did not, I didn't see him on the bench list either, but don't quote me on that.

Per Soccernet, Rossi was not in the squad today.

In a friendly against a team in the fifth-tier Spanish league, except really they're further down because there are four leagues of twenty teams in the third tier, including the reserve teams of Villarreal and many other La Liga sides (which play in the same league pyramid in Spain and can be promoted and relegated like everyone else), and eighteen (!) leagues of twenty teams in the fourth tier. By their standing in the league pyramid, the team Jozy played against is no better than the 421st best team in Spain. Sure, they had eleven guys on the field including a 'keeper who was allowed to use his hands, but come on, "Altidore hits hat trick in Villarreal debut" is a bit misleading.

Well, as I'm sure you know, the Villareal side he played for was also missing its international contingent, thereby dropping it down the pecking order several notches. And it was a friendly.

But let me ask you this, If Bjorn Runstrom scored a hattrick in an FA Cup match against a League 2 side, don't you think Fulham's coaches would have taken notice and learned something about the lad? Let me also ask you this, would this have impressed his new coach less than scoring in Havana would have?

Jeez; don't get all grinchy on us, Josh. Let the lad have his parade in the sunshine.

Sure, but if Runstrom scored a hat trick in a friendly against an Isthmian League team, which is more like what we're dealing with?

As I said, there were still eleven players on the other team who were trying to keep them from scoring goals, but this was a team that would've been outclassed by Ebbsfleet United or the Rochester Rhinos or a good college team.

Never-the-less they put Jozy out on the pitch to score and he scored so good for Jozy!

    Another Villarreal striker injured

That leaves them with two fit to play this weekend, including Altidore. They have the option of playing a 4-5-1 or using one of their more attack minded midfielders as a withdrawn forward, but either way, it looks VERY LIKELY that Altidore will see some playing time.
