As you may know a pair of Jay's friends spent their life savings to make a documentary on his remarkable story of rising through the ranks of English soccer. Despite that they were still over $200,000 short the funds needed to license the FIFA and US Soccer (damn them) footage of Jay playing. Via a Kickstarter campaign they were able to raise the additional money and the film is now available to theatres. They asking people to contact their local independent theaters to get it shown in your area. You can refer any theaters to their website.

Here is the trailer with bits from Ray Lewington. I wonder if this will get any interest from FFC supporters in England due to Ray's connection with the story.

Bumping this for no other reason than the trailer is a great way to start a new week. Gotta love the Cheesehead, and can still see him summersaulting the pile after Donovan's goal v Algeria.

The filmmakers landed a deal with AMC to show the film in numerous locations across the country. Look here to see if it's showing near you.http://jaydemeritstory.com/?page_id=262
Unfortunately for me the closest showings are in Columbus. Sometimes I wonder about Cleveland. :?

Since they have a marketing budget of zero they are asking people to help get the world out about the showings. You can download a promotional pack here. http://jaydemeritstory.com/?page_id=41

They're encouraging people to make an event of the showings, make them part of a group event, post practice event, meeting venue etc.

And Joe the thought of cheesehead summersaulting over that dog pile always puts a smile on my face.

It's showing in SA on November 3. I hope that's not the ONLY day since it's already full for me.

There's a showing in Seattle, but the Buy Tickets button is disabled... I really hope it's not sold out, or, as Don said, it's not the only showing. It seems like a wonderful film.

Many of the debut showings across the nation are today so get to the theatre if you can. If there is enough demand maybe they'll show it in the less blessed areas of the country. . . like Cleveland

Just go to the links in my posts above to find out where and when it's being shown.

Wow I've missed all of this, trailer looks fantastic!

There's four theaters in the Columbus area (feel kinda spoiled, sorry Mo!) so I'm definitely going to try to check this out.

EDIT: Bummer, cant seem to find any showtimes for Friday in Columbus. Tonight might have been the last night here. I guess there's always Netflix in a few months.

DVD is now available for purchase. I assume that means the theatre showings are done. I got the DVD and it is definitely worth a watch. There is a lot more of a Fulham connection to Jay's story than I realized. Here's the website where you can purchase the DVD in time for the holidays.
