Should Mac Users Run Antivirus Software?
Good info. From my 'outside the lines' POV

Note he demolishes the myth that has long annoyed me..

The MAC is NOT less vulnerable than Windoze. What he DOESNT mention is that MS is more likely to be targeted by MS haters, like Linux geeks... and a few MAC advocates

I'm just glad this thread isn't about Brian McBride having some bizarre illness!

I have also found that it is harder to develop for macs. I don't know if its just me but I'm a born and bred windows developer and when I switched to mac I was NOT happy with the hyped up X-Code. So if its not just me, people may have a problem writing viruses that will run on macs.

P.S. They do have an intuitive widget maker called Dashcode. I've used that numerous times.

BTW< I often forget about it myself but I was the first guy at Lexis/Nexis, outside of the software development group, to have a GUI machine on my desk.. first the LISA {an impressive toy}, then the first gen Mac. I liked the Mac so much that at one dept meeting I got a prank plaque naming me 'MacFreak' or something like that.

You have NO idea how hard it was, in the 80's, to get Apps software for it though.. not even a decent spreadsheet and Apple got its commercial START on middle managers desks with Apple II/VisiCalc.. and I gave up when it became apparent that Jobs had no intention of actually making it practical for business use and pitched the 'Creator Market', instead. For MY purposes the Mac was as useless as a Sun Workstation

I feel you on that front petty. It's a shame seeing how easy it is to use OS X.
