    Now the back-story is coming out.

    Some wonks claimed the US was really replying to an earlier Chinese satellite intercept and destroy demo...

    That can't HURT.. but sometimes the real reason is that given. Occam's Hammer and all that.

    Bit worrying on view of a launch incident, wot? Hmmm ....wonder if they've looked into a Hydrazine alternative from corn?
