I hope Boca does play, contract or not. He could not have a better showcase for EPL clubs than this friendly. He plays very well on the National team. Is Beasley healthy enough to play? We could have a pretty good lineup. I wonder how many of the Chelsea and Man U players will play after this week.

Heard on Sky Sports News that 7 players from the Champions League Final will be joining the England camp soon. None of them joining OUR camp, though!

The US will have serious problems scoring in this one. The lineup here - especially the forwards, is incredibly weak. No way Jaqua or Wolf or EJ score on that English back line. Donovan and Dempsey need to see plenty of touches. Hopefully the US can keep it close and put a scare in the English. I was excited about this game a month ago, but the US lineup seems tired. Maybe all the US guys out of contract will be very fired up to prove themselves.

Not all that terribly impressed with what, or who, we are taking to England. Bob has proven my hunches wrong before, and I'll be happy for him to do it again.

Don't forget we've won two matches in a row on English soil. We've done well, but don't expect us to show up the English at Wembley. I'd like to see some good football out of us, but the boys in the England shirts are trying to impress their new boss. It could be a long evening [or afternoon over here].

And, of course, Mr. Dempsey could re-introduce Mr. Terry to the Texan's elbow again. 8)

If I'm Dempsey maybe I consider another forearm shiver to JT. A "Greetings from the Colonies, we don't care who you are...." approach. I would love if the US took an Aussie style game over there - hard as nails and super physical. However, that probably isn't realistic. I could see the US winning this if McLaren was still putzing around, but not with Capello. I see a 2-0 slog with goals from Gerrard and Rooney.

hmmm; and of course, I meant "two matches on EUROPEAN soil, not ENGLISH soil.

I think your 2-0 is probably appropriate.

Bradley has added Hejduk to the roster for the England friendly, Spector is questionable.

Michael Owen used to be a better version of Donovan (speedy finisher), but he broke his leg when he was 18 or so; he hasn't been the same since. For a while, he was just more tentative and at this point, he has just lost a step with age. He has, though, changed his game now and has become a poacher and creater. Still, he was incredible when he was younger.

If anyone is in NYC, the local faithful (Empire Supporters Club folks and others) will be at Nevada Smith's singing and drinking.

    Some fun songs...

    What? No lineups yet?

Be adventurous and predict lineups for BOTH sides!

I have my new USA home shirt (it is really nice, even better in person than in pictures), I have the DVR set to record the game. Now, I just have to stay off football sites from 2:45 on and not listen to the BBC or ESPN on the way home tonight on my XM radio. I guess it will be POTUS 08 or MLB Home Plate...

BarryP! I can't stand it. I could not come up with two better lineups. I'll be home when the match is on [my home is my office], but I'm tied up in meetings. I won't be watching the match until about 10 tonight.

I'll be wearing my USA shirt also. Thanks, Dave; I'd actually forgotten that I got a USA AND an England shirt from HatterMom a while back.

Take a look at the listings when you get home. I wouldn't be surprised if they don't replay it on espn classic tonight or early manana.

I'm sure it will be on ESPN 360 as well -- that will be how I watch the game tonight
