    Mike,

What time will you head over to the Lion before we whip Sunderland? Will meet you (and it sounds like a few others) there...

    Cheers
    Pete

I just wanted to say to Mo and family, Terri and family, and anyone else I am overlooking best wishes, a great time, hopefully 3 points, and a request that pictures find their way to this board.

    Cheers!

    Hey guys,

I got home Sunday night and spent most of yesterday recovering and trying to stay awake at work. Just wanted to say it was great to meet everyone, Mike & Katy, Mo & family, Terri & crew, Pete, and anyone else I'm forgetting. I had a great time, even if we didn't get the result we wanted. I took some pictures, so as soon as I get organized I'll post them or post a link to them.

    Cheers,
    Nick

We got back late last night and I'm still getting my bearings. The trip went way too fast, but I'm at least grateful to not be hemorrhaging money - OMG is it expensive.

The game was a bummer but it was overshadowed by finally being among lots of other Fulham fans - and seeing a BPL game in person. We had a fantastic time meeting Nick, Mike, Terri and their friends and family. Everyone was nice, fun, and interesting; Fulham fans definitely make good company (as do English people in Pubs). I only wish that I had been able to talk with everyone more, but like the entire trip, it all went so fast. I took a few pictures and will post them when I figure out how to use our new camera.

Even worse for us than the game result is what we found when we got home. As a surprise, my husband emailed Fulham many weeks ago seeing if he could arrange for our boys to meet the American players after the game. Well, they didnt respond until the Thursday prior to the game when we were in England with no access to our email. They said that the "American boys" were happy to meet with us and if we'd give them our seat numbers they would arrange it. My husband is kicking himself and I feel bad for him. It was a nice thought and would have been awesome! However, it shows one of the many things special about Fulham FC as an organization (and McBride, Boca, Dempsey, and Keller).

For those of you who dont know, AmericanMike has picked up an English accent, but I guess this is to be expected since he works and lives with English people. And an English accent is much nicer than a NY accent anyway. Mike, tell Katy, her brother, and parents that we really enjoyed meeting them. I'm jealous that you have something so fun to share with your inlaws.

Wish I could do a nice write-up about the whole experience but I'm tired and not much of a writer. Terri, as the English teacher, maybe you'd be willing.

Patrick is in the process of uploading his pics...I have a few of mine and a couple of short videos (need to figure out how to post those). Will post the link soon...

I had a wonderful time! We tried to get back into the Golden Lion after the match, but it was packed to the rafters. My friend Brian wanted to watch the rugby match that was on, so we left and went to The Larrick.

Honestly, I had a blast! It was very surreal for me and Harbord Steve since there were five of us there from Atlanta hanging out at The Golden Lion about to head to a Fulham match. And to meet Nick, Mo and Mike and their families and friends...that was quite cool! I had to wrangle a crew of seven...no easy task.

Will write more when the jetlag lifts :)!

    THANKS SO MUCH!
and no matter what may happen this year...COYWs!

Matchdays are always so hectic and pubs are loud so you can't always get the time to chat too much. I was happy to see some of our fellow yanks mingling with the locals!

My father-in-law says hello and he said it was a pleasure to meet some of you. I think he spent a while speak with Nick, Mo and fams. Anywho, he says hello as does Katy!

Great pics Terri, thanks. Where were you sitting? I thought you were in the Hammy end but the video looks like you're on the side.

For those of you kind enough to say that you are jealous, keep in mind the result. Next time or the first time you make it to the Cottage, chances are very good that the result will be much better. I'm a little jealous of you since the next time we will be able to afford the trip could be after our kids go to college. :(

We were on the second row of section CL in the Johnny Haynes. Awesome seats...I only wish I had a way to TiVo the game, but we only have FSC :(.

Got rained on pretty miserably and it was numbingly cold, but still worth it :).

Don't know when I will make it across again...hopefully soon.

Very cool. Thanks for sharing. Boy it looks like you get really close to the action from the photos at that stadium.
