This is the report of one of the visit to the Cottage that we Italian Cottagers use to do on annual basis.
In 2007 the game that we choosed was Fulham Portsmouth.
People had many hopes on new manager Lawrie Sanchez, due to his apparent success with Northern Ireland National team: nobody could imagine, at that time, that the expectations would have been sadly disappointed and that he'd destroy all at Fulham, like Attila the Hun.

For those who arrive to the Cottage from the Putney Bridge tube station, there's a beautiful, scenic walk from Putney Bridge up the banks of the Thames and through Bishop’s Park. . . .

The ground is just on the banks of Thames. . .

The stadium is built around the famous Cottage.
The original 'Cottage' was built in 1780, by William Craven, the sixth Baron Craven in the middle of woods that were part of Anne Boleyn's hunting grounds. . .

You are so close to the action that you can see David James forced to bend to pick up the ball.

    . . . and touch the pitch. . .

The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed, with women and kids. . .

A must of every day out at the Cottage are a couple of pre and/or post match beers at the Golden Lion, where in the 50's you could meet the legend Johnny Haynes. . .
