So, it's official . . Geoffie is gonna be setting town on English soil on the 18th, and be in Hammersmith End for the Arsenal v. Fulham bout on the 19th.

Can anyone with experience tell me . . I'm just curious . . are the local supporters tolerant of poor yanks like myself weeping with joy because they've finally come to the end of their pilgrimage?

    Just curious - thanks!

I'm jealous, man - I was just there in November and already I wish I could plan another trip. And yeah, I think the locals are amused by us as much as anything.

And be prepared for this one: EVERYONE knows American Mike. EVERYONE.

How long are you spending there?

Quite the proverbial three hour tour! But one can do much drinking in that amount of time, on top of the obligatory pilgrimage to the Cottage. I guess we'll know not to expect you at Nevada Smith's that day!

Sublicon... From my experience, the Fulham supporters are great and surprisingly the most welcoming people in all of London. You'll love the Fulham area as well. Make sure you make it over to Golden Lion before the match and if you have any trouble getting in the door (only Fulham supporters are allowed or "members") say you're with FulhamUSA or that you're with American Mike. They'll let you right in.

Hopefully you have a seat in the Hammy End. That is where the loudest Fulham supporters sit and make sure you don't go to the Cottage to simply sit and watch the match. Get into the match atmoshpere. Sing, shout and jump up and down as much as you can. Relish the experience, because few yank supporters of Fulham ever get that chance.

Anyways... enjoy your time in London and if you have any questions at all just let me know. Oh yeah, and the easiest way to get to the ground is to take the District Line and get off at the Putney Bridge stop. Enjoy...

Oh, also: If you've got time to do it, walk to or from the ground through Bishop's Park. It may be cold this time of year (or at least I'd assume so), but it's lovely.

Very jealous...I am already saving up for a pilgrimage of my own, but as a poor graduate student all the way in Chicago, that may come later rather than sooner...represent us well!

Don't worry all, he is well hooked up. My man will be sitting in the third row from the back in Hammersmith end H5. As Josh, Spencer, and Kevin can attest, it's loud back there.

You'll meet some great locals in the Golden Lion and they are always welcoming. They do love us yanks.

How did you get tickets to an Arse'ol game from the US? The Offal makes it sound like tickets to big four matches do not go on general sale.

I will go for my first time to the April 5th Sunderland game. The Rock from the Offal MB may be there, Terrinh73 is trying, any other Yanks planning to be at that game?

I would recommend the Brick Layers Arms as well as the Golden Lion, that way you get to walk across Puntey Bridge and look up the river and see the flood lights and the park.

If you want a pre-game snack, get it from the BBQ seller in Bishops Park and not in the ground (burgers and hotdogs are about £3).

If you really want to push the boat out you should be able to pick up a copy of "There's Only One F In Fulham" from diagnoally opposite the enterances to the Hammy End. The magasine is not as good as it used to be, but then things are not as desperate as they once were!

If you are after merchandising, go to the club shop on the Fulham Road rather than the stadium shop, but it will can get very busy.

Finally..., If we lose, don't bother coming back, you're obviously bad luck! I hope you enjoy your day out and I hope that the boys deliver 3 points as a welcome present.

Just got home . . I'll never forget it, regardless of the loss. I didn't take any groundbreaking pictures, just a couple match photos with my iPhone that aren't worth posting. Thanks to Mike for the tix!

Hey man, like I said at the match, I am more than happy to do anything for a Fulham fan, especially one who makes the trip over specifically.

I'm sorry I couldn't stay out afterwards like I usually do but having only been in the country for a few hours, and havinga wife waiting for me at home, I had no choice! If you do make it back, I promise to make sure the beers are plentiful! Glad you loved it despite the loss...sounds like my first match at the Cottage.
