US Youth Soccer Heading Down Wrong Path?

    The season is Fall through Spring. 8-game Fall session, two 8-game indoor sessions, 8-game Spring session.

    So pretty long then.

    They should be moving kids around. Even putting them in goal, unless they're really small. Even the left-footed kids should play on the right so they can realize the value of playing with their weaker foot.

    Maybe if a kid is a "giant" and relatively "slow" should they maybe play in defense mostly.

    Do other parents agree with you as well?

    Good for your son, and better for him for the ugly goal. We all sure can't be Cristiano Ronaldo!

    One thing you may want to consider telling your boy is that the better he learns the defensive positions, the better he will understand how to beat a defender when playing midfield or up front. He knows the tactics (force outside, delay, etc...), so he can develop his game to beat the same type of defense he is successful playing.

    Just a thought for you.
