FULHAM @ Everton [R]

Somebody at the offal has said that Smertin has had "niggling injuries". No word from Sanchez or an official though. So doubtful Smertin plays.

 

With our favorite Russian on the shelf, I vote to put our favorite German in the defensive mid-role w/Demps in front of him & who in turn would play in behind Healy and Kamara. Everybody says we're missing some bite in the middle and Volzy would gladly sink his teeth in anything that moves in front of the backline (Elliot, Stefan, Hughes, Konch), with Bouazza and Davies on the wings. As much as I appreciate Kuqi's endeavor on the pitch, Kamara and Healy need to start a few games in a row and see if they can develop some continuity. These are our best forwards (healthy) and are talented enough to adapt into being our best tandem.

Thought we could get 4 pts from these 4 difficult games (of course I thought we'd the get 3 from Blackburn). Being zero for Goodison doesn't easily lend for much optimism. A draw would be an quality result, a win could be the shot in the arm the lads need.

 

I thought Boca played a very good role as a holding midfielder but definitely was limited. Volzy was a much more natural midfielder so I'm with SoCal on this one...even though it's unlikely.

If you are watching on TV, keep a look out for the 25 foot banner. Orm just got home with it. WooHoo.

 

What is it going to take to get Boca back in the lineup?

 

I am going to be optimistic and say we grab a point... As long as Derby, Wigan and Bolton keep performing poorly I'll take a point from Everton at home. We just have to make sure we take 3 from Wigan coming up.

Very sorry - I had tickets again for Everton but can't make it - I am despairing of ever going to another away match (

Hopefully and fingers crossed I will be at Birmingham. Meanwhile a very happy six hours there and another six hours back to Mikey on the coach.

That's what I call dedication.

That's okay WHITEwitch. We always appreciate the reports, but at the same time 12 hours on a bus or even in a car is not that much fun when the team has shown no signs of winning on the road.

Let's hope Mike and the crew that went up bring back a win.

A typical away match for Fulham, complete with a host of defensive breakdowns and a glaring lack of decent movements going forward.

I harbor no hopes that we'll win an away match this season

Chin up lads and lasses, it was ALWAYS going to be a tough game up at Goodison Park,Everton are a very good side,it was only what I was expecting to tell the truth.The radio said we did not lie down and battled and played good football at times.

I keep trying to make excuses for why Lawrie is subbing for Demps but I have run out of them. Demps has to be bumming and wondering how much time he'll get when Bullard and McBride come back.

I got excited when Demps uncorked that shot around the 58th minute I believe. I thought for sure it was going to hit the back of the net. For the 2nd straight match, one player basically did us in. Yakubu played very well today.

Luckily we have our next two matches at The Cottage. We need results and by that I mean, 3 point results.

That was really, really brutal to watch... team seems to have lost it's way some. I'm really looking forward to getting some fit players and ideas in this lineup.

 

absolute rubbish. i dont even want to watch the highlights to see what went wrong. as i wrote on monday, the davis/murphy pairing needs to stop.

fulham have conceded 9 goals in the past four games and only scored two. even with the competition, its unacceptable. our once good goal-differential has gone to pieces.

i'm going to stop here. fulham needs seven points by the new year, otherwise i think ls is a goner.

 

Damn Yakubu...he got a hatrick on Fulham a couple years back when he was at Portsmouth. I think he likes playing Fulham (looking back, he's scored 8 goals on Fulham in the last 9 matches - okay, so maybe Tom's mentioned this already but I'm still pissed at how easy a couple of those goals were).

 

Everton

We look like a team on a spiral downwards, the players today looked beat and with no idea of what to do. Konchesky summed it all up for me, he takes a throw in which he throws to the other team, he trots slowly up field and as the ball comes back his only attempt was to put his arm up hoping the line was not looking, and he was the only one putting the player onside.

Sanchez and Reed having a committee meeting on the side in the pouring rain, is ridiculous, the team needs a rocket up their collective you know whats, if LS cannot do it then please get someone in who can, you can say what you want about Boca but at least he tries.

We need results in the next few games, other wise we will be beyond hope, its only a miracle that we are still not in the bottom three, but we have got to beat both Newcasle and Wigan, but with this lot I dont see it, all the players he brought in are not doing it, either personally or collectively, they look mediocre at best, and we have to get results in these games as some of the teams we play are below us.

 

Well, not the result we were looking for, eh!?

After the first half I was fairly optimistic but I was concerned over our lack up front. Kuqi started again and that really baffled me considering his ummmmm lack of pace! The guy should not be leading us up front, but coming on as a sub.

Evertons goals came with a bit of luck but don't want to use excuses because I'm sick of Lawrie using them. It's the first time this season I am concerned with Lawrie and his decisions.

The only positives from the day are as follows:

Omuzusi - Did a great job again and should be proud of his performance
Dempsey - Why did he get taken off? Did a solid job overall.
Niemi - Another good performance
Davies - Ran around again and created a few opportunities

Finally, our fans. Again, not there in numbers but sang for 90 minutes nonstop basically embarrassing the Everton fans who could only make noise after they scored. It's a wonder how a club in Liverpool can have such crap support!!

wow this weekends results did not go well. we dropped 4-5 spots in one day.

things need to turn around.

 

I did not see the match, but reading about it, think that match will have the most devastating effect on Team Psyche of any to date.

We need some team leadership. Jimmy and Brian to the rescue, please.
