What the hell are you talking about? The press is the voice of the American people, NOT the voice of the WhiteHouse... She's asking every question that the non NEO CON (70%) American people would like to know. It wasm't JUST Helen Thomas, even the FOX news contingent was absolutely confused by the proclaimation weeks ago that we would have to get ready for WWIII even tho Bush knew that Iran not only stopped with its OVERT program, but NEVER had weapons grade Uranium to enrich to that level.

You see I didnt agree with Helen Thomas so much the other day... because she is weighted with 70 years of liberal journalism, BUT i was proud the idiot on stage was SOOOO uncomfortable, that is the way is should be. If the press were unable to do that they would be INEFFECTIVE and pointless short of the distribution of propoganda.

You do repeat this line over and over.... and its a good point, but it contradicts your position on the war.

Are you refering to IRAQ? and if you are are you implying that our occupation and destruction of IRAQ made their WMD's fizzle out of existence? C'mon now... you are now attacking the the intelligence agencies that provided the drum for you mongers to beat on into war... now you're saying the president has more credibility then them... are you serious?
Normally I wouldnt take from innuendo, but you've repeatedly told everyone here that fundamental islam is the greatest threat EVER... even compared to Nazi's and such... Characterizing poor (financially) fundamentalists, who have few means to attack us and NO country, NO army, NO navy, to do it from, as the greatest threat to American soil IS anti-islamism in my view... you've given them traits they dont deserve.

I thought avoiding giving straight answers was spineless... just another point where we disagree.

So, the point PFog made, was that all the intelligence in the world is not trustworthy.... but GWB is and he thinks Iran has nukes. Be Afraid.

P-Fog's search engine must be near overheating right now. I am sure he is collecting data from every nut-job right wing propaganda blog possible at this moment.

I dont have to search.. the 'freaking evidence' is everywhere. While some are focussed on some high level conspiracy theories they ignore the obvious, even when it is put right in front of their faces.

The REASON? Because they dont understand WHY people would do that.

I'd like to know how you guys explain Bin Laden's fatwa's. In them he has laid out everything he believes, the goals of his Wahabist campaigns, and how and why he thinks his goals can be attained. It's NOT an Islamist Conspiracy, it's an Islamist PLAN. Not necessarily 'Laid out' like a project plan... it just requires literal interpretation and application of the precepts laid down by Mohammed in the Qu'ran.

Maybe THAT is why it's not too fashionable.

Still, crazy people are sometimes, perhaps many times, best diffused by not giving them attention they so, so, so desire. Kepp an eye on them, of course, but treat them proportionately.

Of course, when you have one very "out of whack" guy trying to deal with a "crazy" guy, the outcome is never tidy. Shame we elected, sorry, the Supreme Court elected our "out of whack" guy.

    What's 'Funny' about it?
It's ONLY funny if you only read the FIRST LINE in the NIE.. the REST of the NIE contradicts not only itself, but several previously held positions of the Bush-deranged crowd.
Not to mention the 'positive approach' defies common sense but we cant let that get in the way, can we?

If you need to have things 'pointed out':

    Iran continues Uranium Enrichment.

It gave up the ORIGINAL warhead docs after having them for more than two years.

They continue with their missile technology development. While their Air Force, and presumably everything else but their recently acquired submarines, is falling apart.

They are reportedly -again- training kids to be suicide bombers

    Iran is the only nation whose leader has said he would welcome a nuclear war {as it would bring back the 12th Imam}

France and Germany have already stated THEY dont believe the first line of the NIE. THEY have essentially said there's nothing in that document of any value.

Israel flew all the way across Syria unmolested and took out a 'facility', which Syria IMMEDIATELY bulldozed over with several yards of Earth, then Israel flew BACK across Syria unmolested. There was no public statement from ANY of the Middle Eastern nations on the incident.
No One wants to talk about it!

Now, I could make a funny about any or all of that... but I'm thinking it aint REALLY funny, at least in the context of this thread.
