Premier League matches to be played in US?

West Ham chairman Eggert Magnusson believes a Premier League fixture should be held in the US - in the same way the NFL is coming to the UK. "It would be good for the game," he said.

Would certainly be good for the game in the US.

 

And in spite of the howls from the fans of the team that will have their "home" game in the LA Coliseum or Giants stadium, it will be great for the league, great for US fans, great for everyone around. The game is global, just as sure as Brazilians are playing in Russia, and it will only continue in that direction.

On a related note, since Fulham has done more for Americans in Europe than any other team in UEFA, why don't the W's do a preseason tour on this side of the pond? Our blue neighbors come over here every year and have training sessions in Beverly Hills. Fair play to them, but the W's can do better than they can, no ifs and or buts. I realize that the trip costs money that could be spent on backline reinforcements, but this can be done. Sheffield Wednesday came to Columbus 2 years ago, they are probably smaller than Fulham. Why can't MAF earmark some jewelry sales for a trip here? You have a ready made market for what you are selling, please come on by :idea: :idea: !

 

FFC was here a few years ago, I believe. I think with the addition of Deuce and Keller, it's definitely time for another preseason trip across the pond!
