    Hi mates.
First of all, many congratulations for this beautiful site that is by far the best Fulham site ever.
I didn't imagine that in the USA there was such a great Fulham community!
I'm Italian, I have a great passion for the Whites since the first time I have been to the Cottage, and a group of friends (from Italy and Spain) with which I share the same passion.
To quote poet Wordsworth, to the Cottage we owe "sweet sensations, felt in the blood and felt along the heart".
Now I'm proud to spread that we have set up the first Italian Fulham fan-club, named "Italian Cottagers". We have also a forum (a very small forum, compared with this): http://italiancottagers.forumfree.net/.
The threads are written in Italian but if someone of you guys wants to chat with other Italian fans about Fulham news or about his own Cottage experience, posting comments and/or photographs, you'll be welcome and we'll be happy to discuss in English.

(I love football, therefore I hate Juventus!)

Wow very cool. Bummer we don't have Montella anymore. I miss that little Italian bugger and his goals.

Welcome Han!! I'll have to check your site out, I'm afraid my Italian is to the same extent as Kevin Kline in the movie 'A Fish Called Wanda' (nonsense italian food dishes strung together in fake sentences). The fact this site has so many foreign members is a testament to all the hard work of the administrators of the it.

P.S. I liked Montella as well, only wished he had seen the pitch a little more (injury/suspension)

Really? Ah, ah! Think that in the Italian version of "A fish called Wanda" the nonsense phrases were in Spanish. Very funny, indeed. :D

As far as Montella is concerned, I like the guy (apart from his brief staying at the Cottage, my Italian team is Sampdoria of whose he's a legend) but tbh I think that he could show a bit more committment to the club......

As a Sampdoria fan what do you think of the young american forward Gabriel Ferrari? I don't think he's been getting much first team action, but do you think he has the capability to compete in Serie A?

Ferrari plays in the squad "Primavera", that is the Italian Academy. The Doria Primavera squad is first in the table in its tournament, but I never saw the guy as he didn't debut in the first team, sorry....

Well Han, as an Italian American with some deep Italian roots, I'd like to say welcome! Glad to see you've chosen Fulham...a great team to support although frustrating on many occasions!

I spent many a month playing calcio in Florence a few years back and will be heading back to Italia with the missus soon. Where do you live?

Ciao Mike, io sono di Padova, una bella città medioevale vicino a Venezia. Se torni nel Nord-Est d'Italia, fatti sentire. Teniamoci in contatto....

Hi Mike, I'm from Padua, a nice medieval city near Venice. Should you come to the North East of Italy, please don't forget to advise me, maybe we can arrange a meeting! .... Let's remain in contact!

Hi Han! And welcome to the site. All I know about Padua is that Pretruchio came there to "wive and thrive" and got a lot more than he bargained for!

I also miss the little airplane guy.

Here's hoping for some good results for our Italian fans as well. By the way, any news you get on young Ferrari, please keep us up to date. Thanks.

Ah, ah! I suppose you mean Petruchio the Shakesperian character in the Taming of the Shrew?

But Padua is also the city where lived Alexi Lalas!
Thr American central defender played for my home-town football club.
As far as Ferrari is concerned, I'll certainly keep you informed. Cheers!

Welcome Solo. As a big Star Wars fan, I dig your username! Any good Italian footballers that we could go after in the January transfer window?

Well, I'll try and be realistic, so for this "Italian Connection" I will mention only players who actually could accept to come to the Cottage. In order to solve the goalkeeping problem, I'd pick up an Italian player that plays in Premier League, and just live near the Cottage: yes, Carlo Cudicini, I like very much the guy. In defence the Udinese Brazilian (ex Flamengo) Felipe is a very gifted player that can play as a central defender as well as a right back; plus, he has a great header and he uses to score 3-4 goals every season. In the midfied Thomas Locatelli (Siena) would be perfect; he's an attacking-minded midfielder who plays in the line between the midfield and the attack (the same kind of player than Steed Malbranque) and he's endowed with great skill. If he hadn't been so injuries-prone he would have had had a great carreer. For the attack Matri (Cagliari) would be a good choice. He is an out and out striker, cool head on front of the goal: infact, although he plays for an average club, struggling in order to avoid relegation, he has just scored 4 goals at his debut in serie A.

Those sound like great choices to me. Any chance you can ring Lawrie up and tell him? :)
