You are right, i feel bad for her in sense. She is young and felt it was unfair(Welcome to the world of sports)but she should have left it as coaches choice.

Hopefully after this round of games vs Mexico, they will get rid of Ryan. I know they can find a better coach.

I guess she now knows how John Harkes felt. He was delt the same card, bad coach, bad choice.

That, and I get the feeling there is more to this story than we will know until he comes out with the book.

You know, the entire soccer world has to be wondering how we could fire a coach with a record of 45 wins 9 draws and only 1 loss.

But you know what? I'm glad he's gone. I want our women to play attractive football. Besides, he just couldn't resist tinkering with success.

    Bye, Greg

Mia Hamm is on the committee to choose the new coach. I think that is good. I think they need a female perspective and I would be happy to see a female coach. I have a theory about men coaching women's teams. I think they try to recreate the men's game and you end up having women trying to play overly physical the way men do. The result is bad and ugly. Skill, finese, and speed should be emphasized more. The problem is that the officiating would have to be different too.

It does suck for Ryan that he compiled such a great record and still gets the boot. If he does come out with a book telling the whole story will someone read it and tell me what he says? I cant imagine that I would be able read an entire book of his.

They had a good discussion of it on ESPN2..
"Ever hear of a coach with that record getting fired.. other than maybe the USSR Hockey team?"

Summary opinion: 'Who cares, the man's an idiot!"
