Wikipedia entry doesn't mention his religion, but it says he is married to a Dutch-Moroccan woman and has a son named Shaqueel. He grew up in a rough neighborhood in Rotterdam as well... and Rotterdam is actually predominately non-Dutch (I spent two weeks there last fall).
