and favorite parts of any episode.

Michael...Steve Carell does a fantastic job of being such an idiot, and yet enough to make you pity him.

I also love Stanley and how he always acts...and I think Kelly is hilarious!

    favorite parts...

a recent one when Jim acts like Dwight...comes in dressed like him...and starts saying things Dwight does... ie: Jim: "Question...which bear is best." and he just goes on impersonating Dwight...then Dwight acts not annoyed and is all "impersonation is the sincerest form of flattery"...then Jim goes..."MICHAEL.." and storms off towards Michael's office and immediately Dwight does the same thing.

I love Dwight. He cracks me up with his childlike understanding of the way office politics works.

Just noticed this thread now, and I want in. My favorite episode is when Michael cooks his foot. The whole episode is just perfect. 'Don't send Dwight, Dwight crashing, throwing up, his concussion, etc, and my favorite quote ever...

"I enjoy having breakfast in bed. I like waking up to the smell of bacon- sue me- and since I don’t have a butler, I have to do it myself. So most nights before I go to bed I will lay six strips of bacon out on my George Foreman Grill. Then I go to sleep. When I wake up, I plug in the grill. I go back to sleep again. Then I wake up to the smell of crackling bacon. It is delicious. It’s good for me. It’s the perfect way to start the day. Today I got up, I stepped onto the grill and it clamped down on my foot. That’s it. I don’t see what’s so hard to believe about that."

Agreed! I do not like the US version. The BBC version is ten times better and ten times funnier.

I continually here that the Brits version is better, but I have yet to watch it. I was hoping to find a season or two on DVD...no luck so far. Any clues where to get a copy...eBay?

Netflix is great for that... We just finished the first disc of Series One of the BBC version...

Nothing beats the scene at Chaser's nightclub when Gareth is all hugged up on the biker chick. I could never imagine Dwight doing the same...

The only thing I rate the U.S. version higher on is the Jim/Pam tension... the Tim/Dawn relationship on the BBC version is a little weak.

The Brit version is very funny, but in a dry British way. I prefer the over the top American tomfoolery, myself, but that's all personal preference.

Michael cooking his foot is Season 2 Episode 12 and it's called The Injury. Best episode evarrrrr.

Thanks for the tip mslandshark...I will have to look into that. I just can't see how the show could be better than the US version. It is shear brilliance. The akward and often uncomfortable comedy makes me laugh everytime and what can be funnier than a Jim/Dwight stand off?

Awesome. How about when Michael falls off the toilet? 'I fell, send Ryan in here!' Toby: 'He's...dead.'

This is the reason I do not like the American version as much. It seems like they are trying too hard to make it funny and things are just not as believable as on the BBC version.

Michael drives me nuts and to me does not hold a candle to David Brent. Dwight might be funny in some cases, but once again, Gareth invented that character and is that character.

Usually whichever version you see first is the one you will like better. Obviously I saw the BBC version first and prefer that over the American one.

tom i've never disagreed with you on anything until now. :) I love Michael...think Steve Carel does a brilliant job with that character. but you are right about having seen it first. i still have yet to see the british version...and i'm sure i would like it too.
