I thought Ian Botham played cricket. Silly me.

Botham was knighted for his work raising money for Lukeimia. He should have been knigted for his services to cricket (and race relations) 16 years ago when he retired from the England team, but various drugs/drink/women scandles prevented that from happening. He is now a Sir, along with his good friend Sir Viv Richards.

He was and still is a very colourful character who will forever be remembered in English culture (not just cricket circles) for his contribution to the 1981 Ashes victory. Botham deserved his award as recognition from the country to a special and generous talent.

Fog, you are clearly off at a tagent that I did not get. I read the article that was linked and it was about Salman Rushdie - but I did not know if the BBC had changed the article on you.

So, as I say to my wife, I am not a creature who thrives off clues and intuition. If you have something to say then say it - it's hard enough responding without guessing the flipping question! ;)

    GB... the links are intentional.

It's PC and what and who the media WISH it was about.
