Anyone else catch the match yesterday? Although the final score isn't reflective of the competitive balance -- Slovakia ran out of gas in the last 8 minutes or so -- I quite like the look of the young Englanders.

Liam got a nice run-out, and Richardson and Routledge were effective on the wings, but the guy who impressed me the most BY YARDS was Huddlestone. There's a future England captain there.

Shame that the England v. Estonia match is PPV. If anyone doubts the impact of Beckham in the states, this routine Euro2008 midweek qualifier being PPV should resolve that.

I caught the match. The young brits began to wear down the opposition and it was merely a matter of time before the goals began to rack up.

Huddlestone's goal was nicely struck and the work rate by each player in the England side was fantastic. Lita's late goal was pure effore, not much skill, just out ran the opposition.

see that your boy, the Stork, is starting for England. Glad McClaren hasn't lost all his marbles.

Fat Frank is still in the lineup, though.

My guess is Crouchy will nip at least one goal. I mean he is afterall the most prolific striker England has ever produced. Shearer who? (kidding of course, I can't even type that with a stright face let alone say it)

Fat Frank is a complete waste next to Gerrard. Limits Gerrard really and England would be much better served with Frank's a** cemented to the England bench.

Yeah, but if his fat ass was on the bench, that'd mean that two reserves would have to stand from lack of room.

His teammate, and England's best player in the WC for my money, Joe Cole has the only goal at half time.

I don't know why, but that damn banana always seems to crack me up.

Back on topic. Joe Cole seems to come up huge for England. Not to say that he doesn't for his club, but he seems to take his game to another level. About the best for the world cup...I would say Gerrard and Cole are relatively neck and neck in that debate.
