Old and tired as the subject is, it really has no place in 'World NEws' on here, anyway.

But I renew my protests on it.. and there's yet another article criticizing it in a 'not exactly conservative' media.

    Hidden costs of corn-based ethanol

And they dont even address the REAL cost of a gallon of corn-ethanol production and distribution that seem to elude all of us that look for it.
They dont have to, they make a good enough case for everyone to tell their congresspeople to stop it in its tracks.

But then, your elected officials know better then YOU, what's good for the country.
Especially when it's 'popular' and/or they can exchange votes for funding their OWN pet projects..

One thing you and I can agree upon 'fog: If there was no Iowa Caucus, there would be very little in the way of corn Ethanol funding from Congress.

The further irony is that Ethanol made from sugar cane is much more energy efficient. But Hawaii and Louisiana don't have important primaries.

Yeah.. too bad it isnt just Dems and Libs that are for it {I mean killing the ethanol fraud-in-progress}, and Dubya and the GOP that are against it.

Then you would REALLY be in a fix as to how to paint me in a box.

But it wouldnt make me stop supporting doing the RIGHT THING in other issues, my party or not.

I'm interested in the development of Bio-Diesel, better known as "Vegetable Oil" ...

I've seen on discovery channel where a company is taking the non metallic parts of scrapped cars, heating it to a certain point, and it produces this bio-diesel... it seems a little more viable using a substance that can be made from what is normally landfill anyway...

I'm sure there are issues with the production of it, but to me it seems a little more realistic and "do-able" than Corn Liquor (ethanol) ... just look at current market prices for the products not used as fuels ... store-brand vegetable oil is about $1.75 per gallon, while ethanol (Everclear) would be more than $100 per gallon...
