I guess it would be the smart thing instead of letting Dempsey playing out his contract for one season. Dembele, £15m? A little overestimating imo.

I wouldn't sell either for less than £15m. Where else are they going to find a midfielder that's capable of twenty goals and a midfielder capable of being the best player on the pitch in multiple positions? If Modric is worth £35m then that price tag put out by Jol is underestimating his value.

I hope we keep Dembele and have him work on his finishing. If he could put away 10 goals a season, his value skyrockets and we are in the top seven next season.

I would put Dembele in £15m range if he would be a bit better in the final third. He gives the ball away too often after doing some brillant maneuvers to keep the ball. He has a lot of potential to get more goals and assists if he was a little smarter with the ball, and he would be worth a lot more than £15m. I like him a lot and he has become one of may favorite Fulham players, but £15m as of right now? Not sure about that. But football players prices have gone crazy, so what do I know.

Also, I agree with you that we would be pushing for a top 7 place if Dembele and Dempsey stay. And I hope they do. We just need a top goalscoring forward to complete the team. Fingers crossed that this happens in the summer.

I think 15 million for Dempsey or Dembele is about right, and of course I hope they both stay. I dont care that Dembele doesnt score goals he does so much else and is a good fit for how Jol wants the team to play. My hope is that the only clubs rich enough to splash 15 million for a 29 yr old wont need Dempsey.

One thing I dont understand is if the player has any reason to care what the transfer fee is. Does he get any part of it or does it all go to the team. If say a smaller Champions League side wants Dempsey but they only offer 7 million, does he care about that if the wages are good enough?

No, the player doesn't care what the transfer fee is, but the selling team cares a whole lot about that (which is why Fulham either want to extend the contracts now or sell for as much as they can get for Dempsey and Dembele)...the player doesn't get a cut of the transfer fee. He may receive a signing fee from the club that he ends up playing for though.

Clint's age will keep his price tag lower than what Moussa is currently worth, but 12-15 million seems to be a reasonable figure. Would Arsenal be willing to shell that out? Is there another team out there (and assuming playing in the CL is the criteria) that would interest Clint to drive the price up? If Dembele comes back and improves on this season, and barring injury it's likely, then the 15 will turn into 25-30 million.

Isn't Dembele's contract up at the end of next year as well? I just doubt we get 15 million pounds for either one with that amount of time left on their contracts. Why spend that much when you can get them for free in another year?
