Yeah, those quotes are pretty bad. And I completely agree with Spencer, you should never make insult your teammates in such a public way. Unless you want to get ostracized and have no choice but to leave, and good luck to you with your new teammates.

Trust me Spencer, he didn't say those things. He would never be so disrespectful and he's mortified that The Sun have picked up the false interview and passed the quotes off as their own direct from him. He's in Sweden until Thursday but I'm sure something will be said publicly by him to clear things up once he gets back.

It's discussions like these that we get see a little bit of what makes some of our fellow FUSA members tick.

Normally, I agree that a player should not make these comments. And perhaps you few may be correct that a player should NEVER make such comments. But after reading what is going at Luton, I could honestly understand if he did.

If you are a good player, believing in yourself and having proven yourself at a certain level, believing and proving you belong or deserve a chance at the top level, and then get treated poorly at a lower level, watching teammates and coaches get treated just as poorly if not worse, and then watch the wheels come off..........well, I can understand such a response, if not support it.

Does it show that you would respond such a way at the next level, with your REAL team? Maybe.

Does it show a passion for the game and competition that proves you not only expect, but demand, a level of competitiveness and professionalism in your professional career? Certainly could make an argument for that also.

If he did make these comments in public it would show that he's an arrogant ass, or a completely young and naive player, nothing more or less. And far from being a model professional. It's one thing to criticize a teammate behind closed doors (which is completely appropriate), it's completely different when you to do it public and not confront your teammates first. You're not leadership material if you do, mostly a coward.

I'm not saying you can't voice your displeasure with management in public, but you have better have addressed your grievances with them privately before you do. And then you should mindful of the language and tone you use. You can set yourself up for having a bad reputation of being a spoiled, prima donna with comments like those above.

You can have believe in oneself, be competitive, and passionate; but nobody likes a boorish, self-serving twit. We all look to McBride as the model pro. You will never see him do anything like this. I hope it's true that Runstrom never made these comments and from I have heard and read about him (and from Lauren's account of events); I don't think he did.

I don't think he did either. Not based on his reputation so far with Fulham.

But if he did, I am not so sure I would be so quick to attack his character and cut the chord. Not based on all the reports about Luton, and, as you point out, based at least partly on his youth.

Don't throw the Baby Bjorn out with the bath water.

I want to see Bjorn make an appearance off the substitutes bench...he's gotta be better than John who has made several appearances of late. I remember when Bjorn made an brief appearance earlier in the season (can't remember against who...Lauren...help) he ran his tail off for the short amount of time he was out there. I have yet to see John run for anything, except when i saw him down at McDonalds when they had their 2 for 1 sale on Big Mac's.

From the Offal and a Swedish FFC fan:

Nick the Swede location: Stockholm | Posts: 18

My post from TFi on this subject...

First things first, this is old news and comes from a 4 day old ”interview” on Björns own fansite. The interview was removed very quickly after Björn phoned them up – so as usual the Sun is lying. He’s never said this to any journalist.

I believe Björn has said these things because it ”sounds” just like something he would say He would however never, ever say it to a media representative and if he’s said this to Fredrik who runs the fan site it was most likely not meant to be published.

The apology from the fansite and a new interview with Björn was published on Sunday evening and it doesn’t say anything like the text that the Sun has stolen claiming to come from their interview.

Björn has released a statement on www.lutontown.co.uk
Now Sol Davis looks a complete fool for blasting Björn as "spineless", a "maggot of a man" and "a coward on and off the pitch" without bothering to check up whether the quotes were genuine or not.
Hmm...something tells me Björn's return to Luton tomorrow might be a liiiiiittle bit frosty :S

thanks Lauren. Hopefully when he comes back off of loan he'll get a run out with us...even if it is off the bench.

about Sol Davies, I think you see now why this piece of crap "journalism" by the Sun [in typical Rupert Murdoch fashion] was so dangerous. Sol Davies is a good guy, and he's a miracle man.

In October, he suffered a stroke on the team coach and initial reports were that he might never walk again. By January he was back in the mix, and has been a starter again the last couple of months. If anyone is going to "bleed black and white" at Kenilworth Road, it's going to be Davies. When he read Bjorn's "quotes" in the Sun, I'm sure he thought something along the lines of "what a gutless maggot Swedish prettyboy dilletante. If I get anywhere near him on the pitch Saturday, he'll pay for what he said about me and my mates."

Hopefully, if Bjorn does indeed make the 40 mile jaunt up the M1, the info on the Luton fan site will be read to all the players first. Realistically, though, I'd rather he came back to Mosburgh Park and replaced CJ and/or HH on the subs bench against Pompey.

So...Luton have appointed Kevin Blackwell as their new manager on a 4-year contract. Seems many Hatters aren't all that happy about it, and from his comments in the press conference it also sounds like the board have painted a rather sunny and inaccurate picture of the club to sell the job to him! He says they're aiming for the Premiership, have a very bright future and he's looking forward to the new stadium. Err, Kevin, they're second from bottom in the Championship, the board keep selling all the best players and the plans for the stadium haven't been approved and aren't likely to be either! I wonder if he'll pick Björn to start up at Burnley on Saturday...

They've been talking "seriously" about a new ground since the mid-1950s. The last real shot they had at it -- the "Kohler Dome" near the M1 exit in the late-90s -- was shot down by potential neighbors who didn't want the louts on a Saturday.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Are you traveling up to Burnley? If so, you truly are Bjorn's biggest fan.

Nooooo I'm going to Fulham-Pompey of course! Much as I love Björn I simply couldn't miss a Fulham home game to watch Luton. That would just be plain wrong...hence why the only of his games at Kenilworth Road I missed was the Wolves one as it clashed with Fulham-Villa. I've got my priorities right, don't you worry ;)
