Jim Rome plays clip of some NBA player saying he doesnt mind if one of his teamates come out.

Then berates the guy because the player referred to what he was sick of was the 'gotcha stories' where some married gay is found out, after proclaiming against Gays...

He says;

"No NFL or NBA player is gonna come out during my lifetime or my kids lifetime... we'll be playing on Mars...."

Well, if there's anyone I despise and discount more than Olbermann for 'playing controversy for effect', it's Jim Rome.

So, I'm figuring it's going to happen about sometime next year.

Jim Everett is an icon.

 

He was always a good, stand-up guy when he was with the Magic -- helping out in the community, showing that recent NBA players can be erudite, etc. To me, he seemed like one of those players who didn't fit into the whole NBA "culture" very well, even though he was a decent player... which is one of the reasons why I wasn't completely surprised by the recent developments.


By the way, his last name is spelled Amaechi. :wink:
