Great news on the additions to the squad. Some mates and I will be attending the friendly against China in San Jose and any fellow Whites supporters who want to grab a pint or two beforehand, we'd be happy to oblige.

I like the squad. Simek has had a good season with Wednesday -- scored for them last time out! -- and Heath Pearce could be the answer to our left-back problem. I'd love to see Boca and Gooch as a tandem also.

As for Frisco -- not this time. Not allowed to travel until mid-May, and when I do, it'll be business I'm sure!

I'll assume you meant a Jim & Coke. I sure wish I could see the national team play, hopefully 2010. Little things like graduating college and scrounging enough money to eat get in the way...

Don't worry, it builds character that eating top ramen and saving your money for a six pack (or if your splurging, in your case, a small bottle of Jim Beam) thing.

In the famous words of Led Zeppelin, "Your time is gonna come...."

It is quite possible, and I mean very possible, that I could present a few questions to Clint Dempsey or Carlos Bocanegra (or any other USMNT player) while I am down there this weekend.

    Any requests?

You could tell Bornstein that 3U's is precariously close to topping out and that we could use a quality left back in a year or two.

I would, but I think he is out. Pearcey on the other hand,....

If I can get on a computer, I'll try to provide updates as available. Saturday at the end of their practice seems to be one of the opportunities. And then I have bending ear sesions with Rob Stone and Wynalda lined-up that night.

Let you know how it goes.

    And you know that, man.

Last estimate I heard was around 23,000 tickets. A buddy on the ground in Tampa is predicting close to 30,000 at game time though. That would be a pretty decent crowd, IMO.

Alright, here's my best line-up, but not necessarily who will be playing (as I imagine they will mix the more veteran guys with some of the newer guys):

    ------------------------------------- Howard -------------------------------------

    --- Cherundolo ------- Onyewu ------------- Spector -------- Bocanegra ---

    ---- Mapp ---------- Dempsey -------------- Donovan --------- Beasley ----

    ------------ Ching --------------------------------------- Twellman ------------

Even though I am no Landycakes or Da-Me-Me-Marcus fan, they have experience the others do not, for now. I happily look forward to seeing Feilhaber, Carrol, Bradley or others unseat them.

    Final: U.S.A. 2 - 1 Ecuador

I'd rather see Spector at RB and have Boca and Gooch do the middle. I'd like to see Pearce at LB. Aside from that, I think you have it good.

For Dallas, put in Keller, Cherundolo, DeMerit [for Howard, Spector, and Boca], and bring in Feilhaber and Bradley [for Dempsey and Mapp].

I could not be less excited about our so-called strikers, but I suppose Johnson and Cooper should have a runout also.

As someone on Fox Football Phone-In said the other night, whether Bradley is interim or permanent and whether there is a better coach out there, Team USA won't start winning until we find forwards who can score.

    I agree.

T -3 hours roughly before the Panhandle Express leaves the station. I'll try to log on and update, but everything will be played by ear. So, If I don't surface over the weekend, I'll be in touch next week, and everyone enjoy. U.S.A.!! U.S.A.!! U.S.A.!!

I'll be checking out the TV for glimpses of the Mad Cottager.

Have a great time, and bring us back 3 points!
